The passage involves the phrase "gluttonous eaters of meat" (and winebibbing) - but I believe that it is a personal thing to understand it according to the flesh.
To me it's more of an addiction issue.
I knew countless witnesses who used food as a comfort to the point of being grossly obese.
One guy I worked with would knock off a tub of ice cream every single night after stuffing himself on junk all day. He would get physically distressed if separated from food too long( like between morning tea and lunch). His hip joints collapsed at 40 and he now is an invalid pensioner. He was also made an elder at the same time.
