So, that would be a side-step, then...
...or are you acknowledging that they are accepting some responsibility and actually doing something about it (unlike the WTS)?

If there is no God, there's nobody to be pissed off at but ourselves.

its not really a side step sweet heart. More of a fox trot - do keep up!
Wasn;t the initial statement that atheists take more responsibility personally. I read that to mean as individuals atheists do more - I won't disagree that collectively as organisations then theists probably do more. But how do you measure? Not that easy really.
Excuse me? Ya wanna argue that from facts instead of fiction? Why is it that the majority of assistance programs happen to have been created by religions? Whilst many have been taken over by the State, they still continue to run their own to augment this.
he he, scandal!
well, i agree in a relative sense, LT. i'm talking more about a personal moral responsibility, not amount of dollars donated to a cause by organizations. i know that a lot of humanitarian orgs are under the umbrella of a church, and this is great. gives religious people a good name.

I'm not interested in your relatives, just how you intend to support your wild assertion

lol, well, here's some anecdotal stuff about my relatives.
my uncle glen was the first apostate in my family. he "went" when i was about 14 years old. haven't seen him since. but, for all his born again jesus in his heart talk, he left more pain and suffering in his wake than he accomplished good. why would he care about his old family, or his new wives, etc etc, when he had jesus in his heart, and was going to heaven at the rapture!
and then there's my non JW christian family. they are all a bunch of wildly wasteful consumer types, who can't think past their very own concerns (kind of like my JW family). upon bringing this to their attention at a family dinner (you can see that i am a great relative to have around), and forcing them to comment on world conditions and how they relate it to themselves, they gave me the same patronizing answer that i heard growing up as a witness. the world is evil, but one day, god will make it all better. so, what's the big deal now? god is making an accounting of all the bad things that happen to good people.
he he, it's funny to think about them.
anyways, there are many good "spiritual" people that i know. some right here on this board. i guess it's impossible to belong to club that comprises 95% of the world's population, and not have a few bad bananas.
