I have 3, they are always by my side...
One for the TV, one for the TIVO, and one for the Digital Cable.
They are MY remotes. No one else is allowed to touch them when I watch TV.
More fluff, how many remotes does it take to watch TV?

5 here but it doesn't matter since they are always missing in action.

I don't have a remote for the TV. I get up and change the channel and volume. Like Talesin, I do just broadcast TV. I do have a remote for the vcr and one for the dvd player.

Erm ... 6:
Xbox
Cable TV
TV
Cheapo Surround Sound System
DVD Player (for region 1 films that the XBox won't play)
Windows Media Centre (just to play with, on dual boot)
You can never have too many remotes !... and they are never ehere they are supposed to be (women and remotes don't mix)

Remotes are such a pain when you lose them lol! Or get them mixed up like trying to work the VHS with the DVD remote lol!I have tons of T'V's VHS DVD yet alone all the stuff in my older sisters room don't want to count lol!
lol Simon I generally find that males are the ones that misplace them like slipped down on the side of the couch.
Or it could be little children who like to walk off with remotes and put them god knows where!

It generally doesn't bother me to get up and change the channel Well to be honest I don't really watch T.V.
I spend most of my time on the internet mainly on forum websites lol! or playing on my guitar and singing/songwriting.

You only have 3???
For the love of God, you're deprived. I have one remote for my television, one for the home theater receiver, one for the DVD player, one for the VCR, one for the satellite receiver, and one for the Xbox DVD (which is rarely ever used).
I tried to program my universal receiver remote to activate everything, but it's too damned complicated. I know how to do it, but all the button pushing is not worth the effort.
