so... did you eat all the cookies? ROTFL!

Seriously, you have to get him to try one sometime. If you can't, there is always camping. We'll work on him then. I'd love to see it, we can bug the crap out of him with "munchies" comments.

Take care. Humor helps, looks like you know that already!

Yeah, way ahead of you damsel on the bullets. Geez. but he won't be going home anytime real soon, I suspect. More like this ------>

LOL @ Princess. Yes, I learned a long time ago to laugh with the crazies. That way the sane people think I'm taking it well, and the crazies think I'm one of them!

You can't make shit like this up.

Odrade, I am sorry you're going through so much! But I must admit, I've had to read through this twice before I could post, I too have tears in my eyes from laughing so hard........theys say we're nuts for leaving the "truth"? Hang in their kid! It will eventually get better and you have a lot of friends on JWD, so dump it here and let us help...even if it's only letting you vent and us share a little bit of shoulder!

I wish you the best. Family drama can be so Uuuugh! Deciding when to insert yourself into the play of things or to keep out of it can be its own drama.

More: Just had this thought, and I'm LMAO with my macabre sense of humor...

When my grandmother got run over by the car year before last, my mom and dad were still at Bethel. My mom is a HUGE believer in homeopathy, so when we were little (and not so little) she was always putting these little white pills under our tongues for various ailments. So my mom calls me from NY and says "You have to take Arnica to your gramma! I won't be there till tomorrow to give it to her!" Now, when I say she wanted me to take Arnica to my gramma, I mean she wanted me to go to the CCU and put the little white pills in her mouth every three hours until she arrived. Okay, #1, my gramma was unconscious with a tube down her throat, and #2, when she was awake she thought anyone within 6 feet of her was trying to KILL her. So I'm sure that would have gone over REAL well if she woke up and I was trying to shove little white pills under her tongue.

Anyways, just thinking of my Grandpa now. I wonder where she's trying to stuff those little white pills? I guess he has some tongue left...

I'm sorry. I really am. When my grandpop moved in with us a few years ago, we had to clean out his home. Found a loaded gun in his bed as well. In fact, it was my oldest boy who found it, and called me. I did hear thta it happens with elderly, it makes them feel safe. I'm really sorry about what's going on. It could be a form of dementia going on, and maybe medication could help him.

I'll be keeping you in my thoughts here.

OMG, (((Odrade)))! How awful for you and your fam, cher! What's sad is....if you attempt to step in and get your Dad committed for psych eval. your Mom has the last say-so, cause she's his wife....and since she's been second-guessing the docs....but then...anyone who'd put back a loaded gun in a paranoid old man's bed is not the best one to be making decisions for him, eh?

What a circus, O! I hope things work out for the best.

Take some time for yourself....and have a good stiff one, eh?

Well now, that would be bad. It's my Grand-dad though. My dad has some sense, and my mom is next of kin, but not wife, so she has some say-so, but not overly much.

    And, drinky comin' right up!
