I'm looking for the cheapest round trip ticket possible from Maryland to Texas. I was supposed to be on my way there by car, but my friend bailed out at the last minute and I'm not driving that far alone.

Just pull up Google search engine and type "cheap airfare" into the toolbar, click "search" and take your pick. There's terrific comparison shopping for competitive airfare prices there.

Just try clicking on one of the ads that pop up on this post.

My sister who travels alot used this site www.airtran.com . I flew on it when I went to dallas last month. It's not bad and the fare ($69 each way) was pretty good.

Thanks. The cheapest return ticket I could find from Baltimore to Dallas was Northwest at $307. I'm not sure if this is good or not since I haven't flown in 12 years.

    Maybe I'll drive afterall.

    I generally use http://www.opodo.com/

However http://www.hotwire.com/ and http://www.orbitz.com/ are also pretty good.

    Good luck and happy hunting

Oh NO! You can find 'em cheaper than that. I think Little Toe mentioned Hotwire.com, which has a deal where you can name your own price and they come up with an airline willing to sell you the tickets for the price you name. We got a friend RT tickets from South Carolina to Austin, Texas and back to SC for 198 bucks last year, I think. Might be worth it to check it out.

Why not. Come on...If this defenseless little gal can drive from Pa to Ks on her own with all of her earthly possessions in tow...you can get down to TX. You could think of it as the ultimate road trip, planning various stops along the way and shacking up in hostels or KOA.

    or...

try: 1 800-ok-cheap (www.cheaptickets.com) I would suggest Southwest Airlines out of Baltimore, that is, if they fly into your destination city. As a former flight attendant out of Dulles, I am certain these are two great lead sources for your cheapest flight out of Md. I would suggest Independence Air out of Dulles, but I don't think they fly into TX yet. You could check, that is, if you would consider driving into DC.

    Good luck!

Little Toe suggested http://www.opodo.com/ and he is correct that is good

He also suggeted http://www.hotwire.com/ and http://www.orbitz.com/ are also pretty good.- he is correct but consistently over the last 7 years or so I still think www.expedia.com is great.

Another good trick is to find the cheapest and then go onto the airlines website - a few say they can not be beaten - continental for example so if you can prove they can be you get extra money and tickets etc.
