So what doctrines do you think are most important to the loyal witnesses / elders / governing body.

I call these the "Watchtower Articles of Faith":

    WATCHTOWER, April 1, 1986, pages 30 & 31, "Questions From Readers"

    (...)

"Approved association with Jehovah's Witnesses requires accepting the entire range of the true teachings of the Bible, including those Scriptural beliefs that are unique to Jehovah's Witnesses. What do such beliefs include?

    • That the great issue before humankind is the rightfulness of Jehovah's sovereignty, which is why he has allowed wickedness so long. (Ezekiel 25:17)

    • That Jesus Christ had a prehuman existence and is subordinate to his heavenly Father. (John 14:28)

    • That there is a "faithful and discreet slave" upon earth today 'entrusted with all of Jesus' earthly interests,' which slave is associated with the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses. (Matthew 24:45-47)

    • That 1914 marked the end of the Gentile Times and the establishment of the Kingdom of God in the heavens, as well as the time for Christ's foretold presence. (Luke 21:7-24; Revelation 11:15-12:10)

    • That only 144,000 Christians will receive the heavenly reward. (Revelation 14:1, 3)

    • That Armageddon, referring to the battle of the great day of God the Almighty, is near. (Revelation 16:14, 16; 19:11-21)

    • That it will be followed by Christ's Millennial Reign, which will restore an earth-wide paradise.

    • That the first to enjoy it will be the present "great crowd" of Jesus' "other sheep."-John 10:16; Revelation 7:9-17; 21:3, 4.

    To these, one might add:

That in 1918 the Invisible King Jesus selected the Watchtower as his sole representative on earth, giving them authority over all his possessions.

That the 144,000 anointed who constitute Jesus' Bride are part of a composite Messiah with 144,001 parts.

That Armageddon's gonna be here any day now, although since Freddy Franz died, we have no idea of when.

That we have no idea who the King of the North is.

That although we believe we have the only true religion, we don't say that anymore becausee we're cowards.

That it is a violation of God's Law to use blood for mediicnal purposes, but OK to use blood fractions for medicinal purposes.

That True Christians wouldn't know how to manage the smallest details of attending a convention unless everything was spelled out for them in Watchtower articles.

That 4 year olds get squirmy at a boring 2 hour meeting because they're sinners and a good beating can drive the sin out of them and make them theocratic whiz kids.

1914 is the foundation on which just about all of their doctorines and interpretations and teachings revolve around.

    IMO these are:

  • Jehovah is not a trinity.
  • Jesus is God's first creation.
  • The Angelic rebellion is the source of all our troubles.
  • The Great Tribulation and Armageddon are literal and coming.
  • God will use the worlds governments to destroy world religion.
  • The Thousand Year reign is real.
  • The Resurrection is the only hope for the dead.
  • The Little Flock will be a literal Heavenly Government.
  • Satan and his Demons have a finite time to exist and will be terminated.
  • I believe their right about these. I also think their 1914 / Last Generation teaching (which they retracted) is correct.

The foregoing beliefs are indeed sacred to the JWs, but the most important belief of all is that the Watchtower corporations are "god's mouthpiece." Do as the Watchtower says or God will hawk a loogy on you!

And not one of them is anything the N.T., the finale of the bible, describes as being a fundamental requirement of a christian. Intresting how cults always miss the point.
