i just started to think about one thing: how long does it take for a people to develop their own characteristics?

for example in case the first human beings had dark skin and hair, how long would it take until one of them gets light skin and blond hair? or even simpler... how long does it take for one african tribe to develop the characteristics of tall people while another tribe has small people.

i'm just guessing, but it must be an awful long time... can anyone provide some sources or links to that topic?

if the answer is somewhere around "thousands of years" it could perfectly be used to dismiss the creationist/jw ~6000 years (human) history.

They (scientists) can see if people are related by the similarity in gens and random mutations people have in common.

When taken the mutation rate into account, they can see whether they have a common ancestor. Can they make a estimation based on this for the human race when different races had the same ancestor.

I know I oversimplify it here, but I hope you get my point
