Hey guys check this out. I was at the local farmers market where I am a vendor and came across a stand selling emu products, watch out candidlynuts emu hunting season is fast approaching...lol!

O.....M.....G! I had no idea that people ATE them! (Candidlynuts---don't look at what I'm gonna say) but I wonder how they pluck all those feathers off? It's not exactly the size of a chicken!
Anyway...it probably tastes like chicken. Doesn't everything we consider "exotic" cuisine?

Actually, I don't think emu is a white meat. I think it's a red meat. I've had ostrich and it's a very clean, lean red meat and was actually very nice.

Yup! Very lean as well. We have a couple of emu farmers selling at the local market, too.
The eggs are really beautiful for carving. I haven't tried it myself, but got an egg for a friend to carve. They are huge --- about 8" long! candidly, OUCH! lol
