i'm not sure when it started..... anyway, for those who care, 420 is the police code for drug related activities.
it's also the most skipped day in high school....at least it was for me!

There are several different rumors on how 4:20 got started.
The most likely is that in the 70's there was a group of students who would meet at 4:20pm every school day to blaze. They would refer to it simply 4:20. From there it caught on and spread from one pothead to another. Other rumors are, it's a penal code for weed offenses (not true) and that it's a police code for weed also not proven to be true. Interesting though unrelated it's also Hitlers B-Day.
