So the last two watchtower studies talked about circumcision as a mark of god's people.  I thought it was weird why they would pick that as a mark. why dont they chop of their earlobe er something. so much easier to identify.

I wonder back in the day if guys examined each others penis when they first meet. like. hey you, do you worship yahweh? I don't believe you. let me see your penis.

I dunno, I think it's a pretty good system, strategically.

Suppose you are an Israelite & you catch someone who you think is a Philistine spy. He says "No, no, I'm really an Israelite just like you". Well, there's one good way to find out. You'd have to be a really dedicated spy to be willing to have subjected yourself to what would be needed to pass that test.

The British explorer, Richard Burton, had himself circumcised as part of his disguise when he traveled to Mecca.

In 1853 intrepid British explorer Sir Richard Francis Burton disguised himself as an Islamic pilgrim and made the trek into the heart of Arabia visiting the holy cities of Medina and Mecca. If his true identity as a European Christian had been exposed, the penalty for his indiscretion would have been death.

What did God have against the foreskin anyway?

If there was some kind of health benefit to have it removed, why did he make it that way in the first place?  Why did having a foreskin symbolize reproach?  Seems like all MAN made religion has some sort of obsession with the phallic.

Yes, they kind of did. There are several expressions in the bible which amount to men touching each other (hand on thigh etc...). The origin of the word "Testify" comes from testicle. The new "Testament"? It's all bollocks ...

Maybe not so much when they first meet, but I understand there was a lot of that kind of greeting going on at Bethel some years ago.

And WTF! is this... foreskin obsession

25 At that Saul said: “This is what you should say to David, ‘The king does not want any bride price except 100 foreskins of the Phi·lis′tines, to take revenge on the enemies of the king.’” For Saul was scheming to have David fall by the hand of the Phi·lis′tines. 26 So his servants reported these words to David, and it was pleasing to David to form a marriage alliance with the king. Before the allotted time, 27 David went with his men and struck down 200 Phi·lis′tine men, and David brought the full number of their foreskins to the king, to form a marriage alliance with the king. Therefore, Saul gave him his daughter Mi′chal as a wife. 28 Saul realized that Jehovah was with David and that his daughter Mi′chal loved him. 29 This made S

Circumcision was practiced by many nations long before Abraham (~2000 BCE).
