Thank goodness for cable original series. I remember when the original version came out when I was a kid. I loved it then and I really like the new version too. I just bough the PS2 game not long ago. I think Sci-Fi has done a great job on production. I look forward to more of it.

HeHe I've seen all the episodes - for the first time in this universe we brits got to see it first. I can honestly say it bums me out that we have to wait for eveything over here. I wont spoil it but for everyone but I have to say it ends on a really naff note. I do love it however and I'm glad they're on making the second season.

I always like the plot of the Galactica series...its the soft porn I have no use for. They should just stick to Sci-Fi Drama. I barely watch it anymore.

The new BSG is 100% better than the original which I called "Disco In Space". The original was just awful. After the pilot movie the regular episodes just kept reusing the same footage of the dog fights to liven up the bad story lines about Disco Ken & Barbie acting (and looking) just like people from L.A. in the late 1970's walking around in a Mall that is supposed to be a space ship.. The new version is realistically somber and gritty considering it is about a small band who have survived their entire culture's destruction whereas the original cast acted more like they were on a "Love Boat" cruise interrupted by annoying insect attacks when the Cylons showed up to harass them. The human actors were so poorly written that I found the few Cylon based story lines far more interesting than anything going on with the human fleet. One of the worst original episodes was the "space western" about the damaged lone Cylon gunfighter on an "Old West" back lot Shane rehash. Utter crap! OH, how could I foget the centaur planet, half men half horses in space yeah......

As a big Sci Fi fan I am so glad the new version is everything the original was not. No wonder the original only lasted one season. I think the new one will last a bit longer. I sense a real British influence in the new production which explains why it is head and shoulders above the L.A. cocaine culture version produced in the late 1970's. I'm not sure but I suspect the new version is actually made in Britain with the talents of a fine British production crew and actors.

Believe it or not, I have actually enjoyed seeing a well seasoned and much improved Richard Hatch, the original Apollo, come back as the rebel leader in this version. He is surprisingly good considering how wooden he was in the original.. The only actor worth a damn in the whole original cast was the one who played Col. Tye. I always wanted him (Tye) to overthrough the pompas scene chewing Adama and turn the show into something good after leaving Adama, Starbuck, Apollo, and all the would be Disco Babes all stranded on an astroid.

Unfortunately, I missed the series so far. I hope they will repeat the whole season in a marathon, so I could catch up...cause I don't want to jump half-way in....made that big mistake with Babylon 5.

Anyone remember the "Battlestar Galactica 1980" when they finally got to Earth?

I still love the old cheezy Star Wars-rip off series. I got into it at a time in between Star Wars ended its run at the theatres and before it showed up on HBO. It helped fill the void in the mean time.

I have such memories of '78 of having to MISS Battlestar Galactica in order to go to the Book Study! Arghhh!!!!

The new show really rocks! I have several ideas on how it is going to go plot-wise and suspect someone else of being a cylon as a good explanation for some things I have observed on the show this season. It is really good sci-fi. Far, far better than the original.

The old show was awful. It was just such obvious studio (Universal) rip-off of the Star Wars/Disco craze.

Remember the news report about some teenage fan who killed himself when they canceled the show? I could never understand that since it was so bad. Why kill yourself for a schlocky TV show?

In fact, except for a few episodes that stood out, the show was really bad. At least it didn't hurt Jane Seymour's career. Some of the other actors never got very far after that, except for Dirk Benedict on the A-Team.

I only watched it because back then you only had three channels and 60 Minutes and Disney were more boring (to a teen).

This new show I watch after eager anticipation every week.
