My husband was in the Navy for the first 10 years of our marriage. I feel your pain. We missed many anniversaries, birthdays, Christmas because he was under the water in a submarine. We couldn't even call or e-mail each other a lot of times. Trust me. It makes your marriage stronger!
And the reunions are DA BOMB!

I have a bit of a depression problem and I know how hard it can hit you sometimes. The best advice I've got try to always acknowledge to yourself when you're feeling particularly down and rememer that its just temporary (those old peaks and vallies). Don't feel bad about feeling bad.
Helps me maintain perspective anyways and then start planning something to work my way out of it. Doing kind things for others is one of the best. hey, you seem lucky in friends as well!
