This is what got me to thinking about the "wonderful prospect of living forever on a paradise earth." As I saw how horrible and corrupt the leadership was, I came to realize that I didn't want to live forever under them. I was taught the essence of that story, that the elders would lead everyone. They are doing a real bang up job now (things get broken and people injured). Since personalities are extremely slow to change, if they do at all, I just couldn't bear the idea of suffering through waiting for them to get better. I'd rather live really well now standing proud than kneeling on my knees forever groveling and slobbering at Jehovah's feet (elders).
