I'm pretty sure that a few people whom I have met personally from JWD have actually gone back to being full-blown witnesses. (I guess I must be pretty scary in real life, eh?)

I think too, that some of them have suddenly become believers again. This is as opposed to those who go back as a convenience issue.

So I was just wonderin'...If someone does suddenly "come to their senses" and really, really want to become a JW again and "be clean etc etc".......

Would they confess to the elders that they frequented an apostate board during their relapse?

Would they?

Remember, we're talking about people who want to be "Clean in the eyes of Jehovah", people who want to survive the big A when it comes.

If I ever went back (which would never happen, but if it did) I would probably feel the need to tell the elders everything. Or at least, the old FMZ would have.

I confessed to the elders about absolutely everything, including taking a single drag of a cigarette just to see what it was like. Yes, I actually wasted the elders time for that. Brainwashing is a terrible thing.

the way i understand it is that there's no forgiveness by the WTS for anyone who becomes an apostate.

Therefore, you'd have to assume that the backsliders you talk of would never admit their presence here.

Personally, I never would go back..I've tasted the forbidden fruit of the 'tree of knowledge of good and bad'. why would I want to go back to Helldom Hall?

In my experience, it seems that the process of disaffection is progressive, and if a dissident were to return for reasons other than convenience or pragmatism, etc. to being a full-blown JW it would be extremely rare. How does one ``put the genie back in the bottle?"
