    Hi Country Girl!

Will look it up and get back to you tomorrow for more infor.

Your doctor should be able to give you a blood test to verify your blood hormone levels.

I believe, hot flashes can last for several years but can be almost totally relieved with herbal treatments and dietary changes. No tea or coffee, very little meat, lots of veg, fruit, soya products etc.

As I said, will get back to you tomorrow.

Perimenopause is quite variable from one woman to the next - it's a stage of life that can last several years until menopause is achieved.

Clinically speaking, menopause is defined as being achieved when you have not had a menstrual period for twelve consecutive months (apart from pregnancy and breastfeeding). Menopause can also be achieved surgically by total or partial hysterectomy.

That's what we get for reaching our 40s and having that dastardly sexual peak.

    Hi upside/down!

Yup! Men get the menopause too, just in their case it's the Testo pause. They begin to lose their sex drive, get extra pudgy round the middle, extra irritable (grumpy old men syndrome!) etc. Their testosterone levels begin to dip.

Their is herbal and vitamin supplement therapy available which works for this problem too!

So don't start to worry about it!

IS that why my wife wants it all the time and I only \want it once per week?

    Stillajwexelder!

You'll just have to let her persuade you!

Often though, men of that age are just working too hard and too tired by the evening.

Reschedule your sex life and you'll find you're just as randy as in your teens!

Escape from work, ie take days off here and there just for sex, if you can take the time off.

Once you get caught in this pattern that teenagers find themselves in, where they have to plan and grab whatever time they can, it soon becomes addictive. You'll soon rekindle any interest lost to tiredness!

Take Zinc supplements and eat meat, lots of it! It contains Zinc!

just one of many links on the subject. Sometimes just using the over the counter progest (one of the best brands that meets fda approval) will help a lot. Other times u may need estrogen. I would encourge to see a doc who works with the natural hormones and have your levels tested. No sense taking something u do not need. I found the best way to take estrogen is applying it to the skin, I use estrogel. I get much better absorbtion than using a pill. currently I use estrogel and progest and the hot flashes have stopped and I feel like myself again.

U may worry about estrogen, and I agree it is a bit of a gamble, but the plant forms (the over the counter stuff) of estrogen can't actually be used by the body. However, there are other supplements. A quick research online will give u some idea of what u are up against. I read Susannnne Sommers book and well, I prefer to use hormones in some form myself. There are many things that happen to your body as the result of decreasing estrogen. And while it is true that it is all a part of natural aging, the hell with that. I want to have a healthy sex drive and not be screaming at my hubby and kids.

It's a big decision and not one to be made lightly.
