I watched this show religiously as a kid on PBS. Loved it, it was a great escape from my messed up life. Talking about it in Jr. High and high school helped earn me affectionate nicknames like "nerd, spaz, dork, faggot, etc." Regardless, I was a huge fan. John pertwee was probably my favorite doctor. Romana #1 my fave companion.

Do doctor who fans in the UK suffer the same stigma?

    no pics.

and am unfamiliar with the program so cannot comment.

cool. Words was what I wrote. But I hit submit early and the title came up with no body of msg. Then I got all confused. Could be fixed with a TARDIS, dammit. I want one.

Tom Baker was our favorite Dr. Who. My mom used to visit us and insist on watching and got my own family hooked on the show.
