The following is a large list of various Watch Tower corporations, including Assembly Halls incorporated, and charitable trusts, circuit associations, etc. My actual list is far larger, but this is what I am providing at this time.
You will notice: The Pennsylvania Corporation is now out of New York, and what is left in Pennsylvania is moved to another town outside Pittsburg-Allegeny area. You will also notice besides that Watch Tower farm in Florida that are the Colorado and Oklahoma Corporations. Finally, I have not confirmed some as being affiliated with the Watch Tower Society aka Jehovah's Witnesses, and I have marked the ones that are not yet confirmed. I have a list of most all JW congregations in the USA, but I have left that off of here at this time.

Hi Bigboi: The Circuit Assembly Halls are normnally incorporated in each state to keep them emempt from property tax as a religious corporation. The Florida Corporation is for additional Watch Tower farm activity, I presume. The Colorado and Oklahoma Corporations are not clear to me what their purpose is. The Hawaii Corp is actually a separate branch operation. The charitable trusts either give money to the Society, or they are for the purpose of holding assets in a tax exempt status. Even many local congregations will incorporate because they prefer that status. The Fremont Assmebly Hall doubles as a Watch Tower west coast warehouse. (I helped on the construction of that Hall.) Many of these are registered as Charitable entitiesw for Convention purposes.

Just curious...check the Fort Worth phone number again. I just tried to call it and it's not a working number. If I have time this next week, I'll try to swing by the address and see if it's legit. I'm also curious as to the answer of bigboi's question.
BTW - I love your educational posts. I'm new to this community and yet learning something great everyday. My prayers are now for my family still stuck in the Tower. God be with them!

Most of those Corporations are made for contribution specific purposes, i.e Assembly Halls and District Conventions.
That is why you may hear announcements that cheques should be made payable to teh Assembly Hall or such and such Circuit #.
These corporations are run separately from the Society usually by local brothers.
Each branch location is often run as a separate Corportation, within the US part of this is for legal protection and the other is often due to tax issues or preferential treatment for 'local' corporations, i.e. Florida.
Looking at that list I was actually surprised to see how short a list it was. FYI the Bethel relief in Flatbush New York is not a JW entity.

Hi Billygoat: I thought I answered BigBoi's questions. And I have not gotten all numbers to work either, but the corporation registration was still showing that number, so I included it. The Society has ever-floating operations, and not all will stay the same.

What is it about Ceasar's tax laws that make the Society such an artful dodger? I hope that isn't asking too much but I'd love to know. Thanks for any info!

Kismet: The Bethel Community Development may not be a JW entity, but they registered under 'Watchtower' holdings for some strange reason, so I will confirm tomorrow. Also, as I stated upfront, my list is much larger, and includes investment corporations where the Society owns stock, etc ... but I am withholding that larger list. I just wanted to get out into the open the basic list that is large enough for now.

No more so than any religion is exempt from taxes. American tradition has recognized separation of church and state, and one way to keep them apart was to prevent the government from taxing, and thus controlling religions. But, some religions have figured out that this is a nifty way to make lots of filthy lucre. So, some states have nailed down religions some on this. But, I would not say the Society is dodging any more or less than other religions or in some way being unethical. But, they are a bigger religion than they have led us to believe.
I always thought that the property of any tax-exempt organization would also be tax- exempt. What is it about Ceasar's tax laws that make the Society such an artful dodger?
Again, the tax exemptions of property, sales, income, etc. are done to provide total protection of the churhc from being controlled by the state. The 'separation' rule is not actually in the Constitution, but simply part of tradition handed on from letters written by the founding fathers.

i can tell you is NOT a "building" or a "posession"...
its just the enterprise that they use to rent out u-mass amherst for the summer d.c.'s. in fact, i believe its not even on the actual u-mass campus. i'll be there for the final episode next weekend. i'm dreading it.
