Glad you did a btt with this material - it is being studied at the moment in the theocratic ministry school - Talk 4 based on Reasoning Book page 340 onward.

The Watchtower Society's treatment of the meaning of parousia has always been wrong, and often thoroughly dishonest. In the August 15, 1996 Watchtower, it published a long article attempting to justify its claims. However, the article was even more dishonest than usual, misrepresenting not only several biblical texts, but Josephus' use of parousia.

In 1996 I began writing, but never completed, an extensive debunking of this article. While incomplete, it's still useful to show how the Society deliberately misrepresents source references. Here's a link to the Word document: http://home.comcast.net/~alanf00/essays/parousia1.doc .
