    Did you know that:
All cows are females (males are called bulls).

True..but only for a little while after birth.. about 4 months old we cull the baby "bull's" outta the herd.

After a few minutes with Hillbilly, and an industrial rubber banding tool, the baby bull becomes a "steer". You guys may have been introduced to him as "hamburger". during the same session he get's a ear tag with number (I am terrible with names), and about $20-$40 dollars worth of meds.

If we do our part with cutting tools you may end up with a delightful plate of "Rocky Mountain Oysters" later in the day

After a few months our little steer is worth about $200-250 dollars.... he gets weaned, and goes to a nice place to grow up.

I'm so very sorely tempted to go roust Kate out of bed right now...after all, it's 7:30 a.m., I've been up since 5 a.m., and she should be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, right?

    LOL....NOT.
