I've left in in my heart and mind.
Now I politely say "bless you!" whenever someone close by sneezes. I return holiday greetings. I give birthday cards and gifts to loved ones. I enjoy the holidays a lot more now, and life is so much happier since I dropped the "them against us" persecution complex JWs have.

I was in from 1988 - 2001. The first thing I did was make my son a birthday cake (2 days after his b-day). My husband has also left the borg. We are both at differing stages of exit but we are more intimate now in ways that were once forbidden. This may sound gross for some so close your eyes now...
but I cannot have an "O" without external stimulation. In other words I never had an "O" just by laying on my back. I would have to stimulate myself while having intercourse with my husband. I justified this in my mind as not masterbating because we were in the process of intercourse, but this was one of those things I was always sick about. Now we enjoy pleasing each other orally.

I've stopped saying some silly JW phrases, such as "Our mother organization", "The truth", "Thanks to Jehovah" this or that, "The assembly/meeting/talk was so uplifting/upbuilding!".
All those silly/cliché phrases and many others are forever erased from my vocabulary.

well I was inactive and dreading returning for a long while.. then when I ended up going out with a guy and having sex with him.. I decided the next morning to never return. and so I saw the guy again... as well as a few others

I too cannot remember what I did first, as I had already done most of the things before I left! Drinking, smoking, drugs, porneia, you name it. I think the first truly worldly thing I did was celebrate Xmas, and it was wonderful!!
The first thing I did was read some excellent books on science, history, and philosophy with an open mind. Talk about worldly!
