    Try broiling them. Much better!

Put dry mustard on them, season salt, pepper, and a touch of chilli powder(touch!). I usually put on the smallest drop of oil you can imagine per side, and make it into a paste. Turn them once.

Dont bake them, broil them 5 to 8 minutes on each side depending on thickness. Didn't your mom teach you how to cook? If you are not sure, take a digital photo of them cooking and e-mail it to me. I'll tell you if they are done or not.

    Just trying to help.

Keep in mind that pork today is much leaner than it was only 40 years ago when many cookbooks were written. Overcooking will yield hockey pucks!

    Here's one good source:

How about baking them with apple slices?

Ok dont think i am stupid......

oh ok go ahead and think it..

but what part of the oven is for broiling?

Is it that bottom part that looks like a drawer?

Put dry mustard on them, season salt, pepper, and a touch of chilli powder(touch!). I usually put on the smallest drop of oil you can imagine per side, and make it into a paste. Turn them once.

I think i am gonna try them like this..

    Thanks for the help guys..

My mom didnt teach me how to cook, she was busy working three jobs.. Plus we were too poor for chops back then. It was only hamburger meat for me and my lil sis...

    nathan,

Reminds me of when I was a kid and my sister was learning to cook. We had porkey pucks and when we were done, she poured us a piece of pie. Thank Buddha for microwaves dinners.

The top part. That's the broiler. You want it about 10 to 15 cms away, or a little more won't hurt it. Not too close.

Wait till they're looking cooked on the top, then turn them. Don't overcook them.

    Good luck.

Come on Stef, everybody knows you don't broil pork chops in the oven, that's what the spin cycle in the washing machine is for. Spin for five minutes and then put them in the dryer on high for another five minutes to suck out the grease. Then serve them with a boiled fabric softener sheet and some kool aid.

I should write a damn cook book.

Shake'n'Bake method takes about 30 minutes at 375F.
