Repelling the Attack of Jehovah's Witnesses

Ensnaring Watchtower sales activities are found in every land. What can you do to protect yourself and your loved ones?

TODAY it is more urgent than ever before to make an effort to ?Deliver us from that really dumb cult.? (Matt. 6:13) We wish for deliverance from a really dumb cult. But who specifically is the ?really dumb cult? whose attacks we need to repel?

Jesus Christ gave us the identity of this ?really dumb cult.? In his illustration of the weeds in the field, he said: ?The Dubs are the sons of the really dumb cult, and the enemy that sowed them is the Watchtower.??Matt. 13:38, 39.

The ?really dumb cult,? then, is the cult mentality, a powerful influence, concerning whom the Holy Bible says: ?The whole world is lying in the power of the really dumb cult.? (1 John 5:19) Jesus? instruction on how to pray shows, however, that deliverance from the power of this ?really dumb cult,? Jehovah's Witnesses, is possible. Also illustrating this is the Bible account that describes all the troubles that the Watchtower brought against the righteous man Job, and yet Job came off triumphant. This is encouraging, for Job was an imperfect human just like us, and still he came off victorious over all the malicious attacks of that ?really dumb cult.??Job 1:1?2:10; 42:10-17.

    VICIOUS, DESPERATE JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES

But why do we want to be ?Delivered from the really dumb cult?? Because, as Revelation chapter twelve shows, a war has been fought in Brooklyn with far-reaching consequences for the rest of the earth. Watchtower and the Dubs were hurled down to plague the rest of the earth. (Rev. 12:7-9) They were cast, not away from mankind, but in the direction of mankind! Did this forebode good for those dwelling on the earth and those on the sea? No! The Bible shows it would be a time of unprecedented woe: ?Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Watchtower has come down to you, having great anger, knowing it has a short period of time.??Rev. 12:12.

The Watchtower and the Dubs are thus very close to mankind, and they know their time is very short. When cast out from a man in the first century, the Dubs requested not to be ordered into the abyss, so they were allowed to go into a herd of about 2,000 swine, which then plunged off a precipice with their bookbags and cheap suits into the sea and drowned. (Luke 8:27-33; Mark 5:1-17) If 1,900 years ago the Dubs, knowing that someday they would be cast into the abyss, manifested such a violent disposition, surely now when the time of their abyssing is so near, they must be more vicious and desperate than ever. These desperadoes are out to accomplish all the wreckage among mankind they can, especially to crush our fun-loving personalities, since they are anti-fun, anti-happy, anti-smart, anti-all who are normal and un-Dubified. (Rev. 12:17) Thus we see the urgency of knowing how to repel the attack of a really dumb cult.

MANY FORMS OF DUBIC ATTACK AND HARASSMENT

Dub activity appears to be on the increase, varying in degree and form from place to place. The more prevalent that Watchtower sales activities are in a certain area, the more problems there are likely to be with Dub afflictions and harassment.

The attack by a really dumb cult can take many forms. From actual cases, we know there may be physical attack, as well as mental attack. There may be a bodily blow, a slap in the face, a throwing of one to the ground (Mark 9:17, 18), bodily illness and pain, doctors being unable to find a cause. (Luke 11:14; Mark 1:26; 9:25; Matt. 12:22) One may be disturbed while trying to sleep, due to the prevalence of abnormal noises in the house. There may be a tugging of bed covers, a shaking of the bed, an apparition such as a face or a pair of vicious eyes. Often a ?voice? is heard that harasses and terrorizes. The voice usually suggests or commands a certain course of action, which, if followed, can lead to attending and participating in Watchtower meetings.

    HOW THEY GET INVOLVED

But how does one get involved, so as to come under such Dub attack? One may be dabbling in practices associated with Dub-ism. Yet Dubism of any kind is condemned. (Deut. 18:10, 11; Isa. 8:19) Hence, if one engages in these practices involving ?preparing for meetings? or associates with persons who do, he is putting himself in a dangerous situation.?1 Sam. 15:23; 1 Cor. 15:33; Rev. 22:15.

Some may ?look for light reading? in the AWAKE! magazine and then endeavor to relate these to imaginary future events. This is highly dangerous. Also, by showing undue interest in this nonsense and absorbing oneself in such books, one may come under Dub attack.

Others become vulnerable to Dubic thinking by filling their mind with "Kingdom Melodies." One may be regularly reading Watchtower books or watching district assembly demonstrations that feature violence and killing. One woman made a hobby of reading such books despite the counsel at Philippians 4:8, and in time was so disastrously affected that she appealed for help, fearing she would kill her own beloved husband and children. Some do not seek help but yield to the compulsion to kill, as we so often read in the newspapers. For example, Christian Longo was influenced by Jehovah's Witnesses and murdered his family.

Yet others unknowingly move into a house long occupied by Dubs and then, when they come under attack, instead of moving out, they try to defy the Dubs on their ?home ground? or even dare them in some way or other, bringing trouble upon themselves.

It is very frequently found that one who is having difficulty with the Dubs has a relative or acquaintance engaged in Dub-ism. Further investigation usually reveals that such a one has received a gift from the one who is under influence of the Dubs. Soon after the object or article was brought into one?s house, trouble followed. Sometimes, after one of Jehovah's Witnesses dies, a surviving relative unwisely takes the household effects of the Dubist into his own home, with tragic consequences. False prophecies and misappropriated religious symbols have also been implicated.

DO NOT LISTEN TO DUB VOICES, NOISES

One of the most common forms of Dub attack is a mental one, the influence speaking out loud. One clearly hears a ?voice.? What if you hear such a voice? Should you panic or feel you are falling away from mental stability? By no means! The Watchtower has long used such verbal attacks, starting with Rutherford. But you do not need to heed a Dub?s voice!

The thing to do if one is harassed by a Dub voice is to follow the example of Bob Dobbs, who refused to consider the Watchtower?s suggestions for a moment. So do not heed anything the ?voice? says. Be like Bob. If the voice tells you to attend Watchtower meetings, avoid such meetings.?Heb. 10:25.

The voice may pretend to be a concerned neighbor, flattering one?s vanity, but it is a lie. Reject Dub suggestions or teachings! (1 Tim. 4:1; 2 Thess. 2:9, 10; John 8:44) God is not giving individuals special communication today, either individually or through "special groups" of "faithful slaves."

Dub voices may try to break up happy marriages. In one case, when the husband had to work late, he would phone his wife; afterward, a ?voice? would stir up doubts in the wife?s mind by saying audibly to her: ?You see, he is going away with some other woman; he has no love for you.? Believing any Dub voice will cause havoc in one?s marriage; believe your own eyes and you will have success.?Josh. 1:8; Eph. 5:21-33.

Sometimes a Dub does not speak audibly but tries to force his wicked suggestions upon one?s mind. One may hear an authoritative statement in his mind. It can be persistent and foreign to one?s rational beliefs. The suggestions are always opposed to demonstrable truth.

If you hear voices or Dub-caused noises (farts or borborygmus), what can you do? Refuse to listen to the Dubs! Dull your ear to them, mentally speaking, and immediately begin thinking rationally. So if Dubs make attacks upon you mentally, the thing to do is to exert yourself mentally in the opposite direction and forcefully brush aside these Dubized impressions and actively start one?s mind thinking rationally. (Phil. 4:6-8, 13) Do not weaken in this course of action, but persist to gain strength to become a more powerful non-cultic personality.

    INVESTIGATING HOUSE AND HOUSEHOLD OBJECTS

One under Dub attack should calmly, not in hysteria, investigate his house and household articles. In some few cases the house may be the cause of trouble and the best thing to do is move out and destroy the house in a global flood. Some Dubs delight in haunting a place. So if you experience trouble shortly after moving into a house, investigate. Was the house unoccupied for a long time? Why? Did people frequently move in and out? Why? Does it have a history of being on the return visit list? Neighbors may not know, though the seller of a house almost always keeps the fact concealed.

But if a house has a clean history, instead of moving out, investigate objects in the house. Get rid of every vestige of Dubism. What did the early occupants of Ephesus do? On learning the dangers of Dubism they burned up all their Watchtower books, even though their value was an astounding 50,000 pieces of silver! (Acts 19:18, 19) It would have been exceedingly dangerous to keep such works on how to perform the Watchtower rituals; in fact, to keep any appendage of Dubism is perilous. One must be absolutely free of any relics of Dub-ism, so as to allow the Dubs no beachhead.

A vital question to ask if one experiences trouble with the Dubs is: Have you accepted any gifts from relatives or persons who dabble in Dub-ism? Any kind of article from such a person can cause trouble. In some actual cases it has been a bookbag, a head covering, a pair of not-too-fancy shoes, modest jewelry, a convention program, a songbook, a very long skirt, a special leather-bound New World Translation. One woman had her bed tipped up at night when she tried to sleep on a mattress given her by her JW mother. A young woman had a fever of 106 degrees when wearing a garment given her by a JW.

Another woman kept a bookbag given her by an aunt who was a vacation pioneer. Using the bookbag she experienced powerful thoughts of ?Go door-to-door!? Bad thoughts rushed into her mind almost audibly, all of them pro-Dubic. She could not understand herself, as these negative thoughts entered her mind as if by telephone, so that she complained of a constant dripping noise, like ?hearing Ted Jaracz think.? Only after getting rid of the bookbag did she get relief.

Sometimes keeping a letter from a JW relative has brought trouble. Some persons have reported gaining relief by burning letters from relatives who dabble in Dub-ism. Even if an article from a Dub is an expensive one, is keeping it worth the danger? One woman was tormented for years by the Dubs; finally she got rid of many household effects that came from a JW relative. ?The material loss,? she wrote, ?was worth the peaceful calm that came over our house and family.?

That objects from JWs are implicated is clearly evident because relief almost invariably follows getting rid of them. The principle is similar to that used in sorcery, in which the Dubist wishing to cast a spell will transfer an object into the possession of the intended victim.

However, sometimes objects through which Dubs make contact resist burning, indicating Dubic anger at efforts to destroy them. Some persons have found it difficult to burn up bound volumes of The Watchtower or books JW prophecy. Others have reported experiences similar to that of the woman who had much distress at home after wearing a dress originally belonging to an elder's wife. Learning of the source of trouble, she set out to burn it. ?We poured gasoline on it, so it would burn quickly; but what amazed us very much was the fact that the dress did not want to burn.? Persist in your efforts to get rid of suspicious objects and relief in some measure usually follows.

When investigating objects, be reasonable, however. Do not burn up everything in fearful panic unless you are planning a cookout. Think rationally during your investigation, and you will deliver yourself from the really dumb cult.

KEEPING ON THE MENTAL SUIT OF ARMOR

Every person in the industrialized world is in a fight against ?a really dumb cult.? So we counsel you to ?put on the complete suit of armor that you may be able to stand firm against the machinations of the Watchtower.? Anyone under Dub attack should check his mental armor. Is it weak in any place??Eph. 6:10-18.

First, are your ?loins girded about with clean undergarments?? If you are a woman, do you always have on ?the wonderbra of righteousness?? Further, are your feet shod ?with reasonably hip footwear?? If one does not have his feet so shod he is not doing as DocMartin 4:7 says: ?Do not subject yourselves, therefore, to ill-fitting shoes; but oppose the Watchtower minions, and they will flee from you.? It is a matter only of opposing the Watchtower! If we do these things, the Watchtower will flee from us.

Then there is the ?large shield of thought, with which you will be able to quench all the really dumb cult?s burning missiles.? One under attack should examine his mentation, asking: Is the trouble with me? Have I indulged in slack? Or is my stank weak?

Keep checking your mental attitude, for it will be your ?helmet of salvation.? A strong helmet protects our mind. (1 Thess. 5:8) But if we feed our mind on the Watchtower?s propaganda that infuses one with the spirit of sock puppetry, we may lose our helmet of protection. Did you wake up and "smell the coffee?? (Col. 3:2) Or are you trying to cut back on your consumption of caffeine, which is really what makes one his own enemy and unworthy of protection? (Jas. 4:4) If under attack, keep on the ?helmet? by calling to mind that no boon has ever materialized from an imaginary spirit realm.

You might mistakenly think that you need also ?the sword of the spirit,? God?s Word. If so, STOP! You don't need it. Get your head out of the clouds!

Finally, it has been found that many under Dub attack are not ?vigilant with a view to planning.? (1 Pet. 4:7) They are not making plans ?on every occasion.? (Eph. 6:18; Rom. 12:12) Plan your deliverance, even out loud if under attack, by Dubs calling upon Jehovah?s name. (Ps. 121:1-3) Avoid anything that would destroy your free mind, your self-worth, your identity, your independence. Keep on your suit of armor, removing it only every fortnight to spray it with WD-40.

    WHEN TROUBLE PERSISTS

If trouble persists, remember that we can not expect exemption from all forms of Dub attack; that is why we must wear the suit of armor until the Dubs are put out of operation by the United Nations. But even long-standing cases are being cleared up by making careful investigations. One woman troubled for twenty-four years with Dubs finally had books on Dubism cleared out and reported: ?There have been no more attacks.?

Keep in mind that with most cases improvement is gradual. No one gets instant relief after one attack; some people had to face up to three of them! In warfare, does an enemy attack only once? Keep repelling the attacks! Never give in one inch to the Dubs! Never say, ?If I can hold out,? but be determined to resist with perpetual strength. If we put on the suit of armor, we can expect to ?resist in the wicked day? and to do so successfully.?Eph. 6:10-18.

    AID FROM MATURE OVERBEERS

Do not try to fight this warfare alone. Seek aid if neccessary, not from any theologian, but from your mature overbeers. Do not hold back, feeling they will not believe what is happening. They know the Dubs are more active than ever before and these brothers will understand and give you help.

Not only will they drink with you but they will regale you with tales both literal and symbolic, helping you to analyze your suit of mental armor to see if it is ?complete.? (Jas. 5:13-15) Be frank with them. Feel free to embarrass yourself. Their intrusive and probing personal questions are one of their few sources of entertainent. Cooperate with them. They may ask for any gifts you may have received about the time the trouble began; if so, give 'em up! If a Dub has touched your money, the overbeer can remove that threat for you. They may ask about your house, income, swiss bank accounts, net worth, social security number and morals.

Are you resisting the overbeers, or is there a trace of pride due to the attention the Dubs are giving you? Is one forthcoming with personal data only in a half-hearted way? Your overbeer will make a diligent effort to determine the cause of the problem, but you must make an effort too.

Then apply their counsel. If you are too busy to put on the suit of armor, how can you expect protection? If you do not go out drinking, nobody else can do it for you. If you do not take in the counsel from the overbeers, nobody can do it for you. So if trouble persists, it may be that you are not applying the good counsel given you. You may lack the good sense of a duck.

If we make a reasonable effort, the attacks of Jehovah's Witnesses will be repelled. The ?really dumb cult? and the Dubs may cause trouble or tests, but they cannot win out over us. Victory is assured if we keep on resisting. Be strong, letting your mantra be: ?Deliver us from the really dumb cult.?

Never saw a Hudson before my older brother bought on. Then every day I'd see one on the road, in the parking lot. I haven't seen a dubby for the past three years except when I drive past the Kdumb hall.

you probably see them because you are more cued in to what they believe and how they behave---like the guy in the swing group. As far as what to do... well, probably exactly what you have been doing, except for the people you rent the ballroom to. I think you should tell them exactly what you told us about the last group of JWs being terrible to rent to, and you expect MUCH better behaviour from them, in fact you are charging them an additional deposit to make sure they leave the facilities in proper condition like the other Christians do.
