I don't imagine we'll see this in the Watchtower any time soon!

I was holding my breath when the external link was loading - but it is only a report. ;-)

Dr McKee said porn users reported it had taught them "to be more relaxed about their sexuality" and marriages were healthier, while porn made people think about another person's pleasure and made them less judgmental about body shapes.

Okay, we most all of us know that porn is titillating. I won't argue with that. But internet porn healthy? That's the biggest crock. Wishful thinking on the part of those who view it. That's all this is. Yes, and people thought cocaine wasn't addictive in the 1970s. Right.

And what are you basing your conclusions on?

LOL @ German...dude, it's not too hard to find. No need to get your porn here....

Flyin', I dunno about your summation. I think I kind of understand what they're talking about in that report. Not that I would know, of course.

I'll just say that it is a problem in many marriages and relationships. I have my own personal experiences with it as well. Fun is not always healthy. We'd like it to be but it isn't always. Defend it to the death if you want. Doesn't change the fact it hurts far more people than it will ever help.

I'm not a Christian. I'm not a prude. I'm not afraid to admit to myself that it causes a lot of harm though. Like I say, defend it if you want. It doesn't make it so. I'm not talking pictures your boyfriend or girlfriend takes of you and keeps. I am talking about internet porn. I am talking about Playboy, etc. I see how they have taught many boys and men to objectify women and children in an unhealthy way. When I say objectify, I mean that they learn to see women and sometimes teens and children as lovedolls with no real worth other than as sex partners.

Some people feel sick after viewing it. They may initially feel excitement, but when that's overwith then there comes the reality that those women in those pictures are actual people with feelings. They also realize that many of them are not healthy adults who choose to model for porn because they enjoy it and think it's a groovy way to make a living. Some are forced to model for it.

I've said it before and I will say it again. The naked human body is beautiful. Both sex and making love are beautiful. I am not against tasteful art. What I am tired of is people trying to promote the idea that sleazy porn, with models of questionable willingness and age, is just a dandy way to have fun and pass the time. I am tired of the damage porn does in people's lives. I'd have to write a book to tell you all the things I base my conclusions on. Trust me, the book would have a number of chapters.

"When you look at people who are using it in everyday life, over 90 per cent report it has had a very positive effect."

what a load of bullshit. i'm not into porn (honest) but i see the only good thing about it is checking out new positions you might want to try out, as for saying it is good for 90%... i would bet that 90% of people who view porn every day never get any sex, so they are just using it to jack off. if they want to say jacking off is healthy, that's fair enough, it is, but to say porn is healthy is like saying sneakers are healthy because you can run in them.

surely there are thousands of more important things that we should be studying.
