I care when the natural remedy is more expensive than the actual medicine. If $40 for a bottle of beaver shit and poppy seed juice don't really cure me, then those herbalists can keep their bullshit remedies.

Nosferatu, I take your point, a lot of alternative medicine is ridiculously expensive and exploitive. I was just making a different point. If it doesn't work, it's not worth shit whether it's mainstream or alternative. If it does work, it doesn't matter whether it's poppyseed extract or molecularly recombined stemcell extract engineered in a space station by geniuses from Harvard (I just made that up, I don't know if it really exists - in fact it's probably scientifically impossible). And the placebo effect often works. If people believe that they can cure piles by stuffing peat moss up their ass, then maybe that will work for them better than hemorroid cream. Something from the tone of your post tells me that wouldn't work for you, but I may be wrong. None of that stuff works for me but neither do mainstream medicines because I don't believe in them either. I guess if I ever really get sick, I'm screwed.

For those who don't believe in network marketing programs, I have news for you: I am involved in a MLM program called USANA since 1996, and I actually earn my living with this company. I am working from home and get paid on a weekly basis. It's hard work, but it works for me.

I got burned however, in a HYIP (High Yield Interest Program) scam recently. The way they promise you return on your investment is that they will give you 3% per day on any amount invested. You can figure this out, that when you calculate this kind of compounding with an investment of appr $500, you'll be a multi millionaire in less than 2 years. The HYIP programs will exist for maybe 6 months and then suddenly they'll be off the internet claiming that they were hacked or something like that. Please be careful with these hyips; they are very similar to Ponzi schemes and they will hurt you eventually.
