    The only thing you can ever be absolutely sure of is yourself. Belief in everything else is based on probability. You could of course be completely alone in the universe and to compensate for this your brain could have created a world for you to interact with.

    I for one can't imagine I am capable of dreaming the content of books I've never read so critics can write reviews of them in newspapers I will never read.

    Or worked out the history of the world through times I never lived in.

    Or dreamt languages I will never speak.

    Unless they are all blank and, like some quantum mechanics, only assume the written state, a historical narrative or linguistic syntax when I "sample" the data.
