Here are some pix from my trip last year:

This is a street view in Kiso-Fukushima.

Cherry blossoms and rowboats in the moat of the Imperial Palace, Tokyo.

My hotel, the Park Hyatt Tokyo.

Atomic Dome, Hiroshima. This is near the epicenter of the atomic blast.

    Wedding in Miyajima, Japan.

    Deer in Nara, Japan.

Hey Sassy....I'll be here for a week still, and then I'll be off for a week to China.

Tomorrow I will leave for northern Honshu to see Niko, Morioka, and Herai, so I will be offline for a few days. Tonight I had an ---interesting--- dinner at a supposed Arabian restaurant. It sure had an Arabic looking decor, but the food....well, was mostly Japanese and random ethnic. They had pork spring rolls (not exactly halal), and beef samosas (not exactly legitimate Indian)....lol

Tonight I also visited an English language school and met a bunch of adorable elementary school age kids learning English.

I would be able to see Mt. Fuji from my window but it is too hazy.

I accidentally left my backpack in McDonalds but when I raced back ten minutes later, it was still there. I hear that in China, it would be gone in seconds if that happens there.

At the school, I helped the kids practice their English. The head of the school lives on a farm two hours from Tokyo where she has lots of horses, pigs, and ducks,

On the subway there is a video screen that has along with ads, a cute animated dog that teaches English expressions like "Rain on your parade" and "take a rain check".

Today I'm going on the shinkansen (bullet train).

    Just some random jottings....

So much for socialism ending corruption.

But, I'm soooo jealous! Do you need a traveling partner next time?
