This subject has been gnawing at me for awhile now.

    So many of you:

    1) Were raised in "the truth?"

    2) Did you get baptized and at what age?

    3) What age were you when you faded, were DF'd or DA'd?

    I'm curious to find out.

    3) I began to "fade out" around the age of 24

    1) Were raised in "the truth?"

I was. My grandfather had studied with the witnesses back in the 1930s, so I'm a 3rd gen dub.

    2) Did you get baptized and at what age?

Nope. I'm thankful that my dad never pushed me to do it. He said I would know when the time was right & when I was ready to make the commitment. And I was never ready.

    3) What age were you when you faded, were DF'd or DA'd?

I bailed pretty soon after I turned 18.

    Reinstated at 20

    Left/faded/ran away/started my life at 30

Raised in it from age 3.

    Baptized at age 14.

    DFed at age 27.

I did not feel that I should be held to a baptizm at age 14. I did not know what I was doing. How can a child be held to a contract anyway?

    Glad,

That is ome of the big problems with "free will." JW's, like many evangelicals that hold to "free will" believe in some kind of magical and non-Biblical "age of accountability". At this age you, all of a sudden, realize that you are a sinner in need of a savior.

Don't feel bad, however. I asked my dad the same question before I faded. His response was, "You knew it was 'the truth' then, and deep inside, you still know it." Oy, is he in denial.
