Actually, my JW mom drags my non-JW dad on these lame Patterson Travel Tours each year. My dad drew the line at the Bethel tours in NY, but, just recently they joined another JW couple to tour a few places in Europe.
Must be great to see the world and it's cultures before ithey are all destroyed at Armageddon. Much better to travel in the company of JWs, where you read the text daily and where you don't run the risk of "being alone" so that your mind is corrupted by worldly ideas.

I just have to post again because this is one of my personal pet peeves.
When I was 14, I went to NYC with another family. They made us go to Bethel, visit the printing place and then we went to the Farm, had a meal, etc. The only NYC thing I got to do was take in a show at Radio City Music Hall. Don't get me wrong RCMH was AWESOME. The Rockettes and that huge organ! It was amazing.
BUT
I was so angry that I went to the greatest city in the bloody world, and had to spend most of the time visiting the WT stuff. I mean, come on, MOMA, the Statue of Liberty, Harlem, the Village, Central Park. Oh, I could go on and on for hours!!!

Do the tours to Canada include any Casinos? When I was a strong dub, I did the tour thing. Even then I was unimpressed. Heaven forbid you use your free time to do something outside of the Botchtower.

Yeah, when I was 16 my mom two my sister an me on a Bethel tour--I was so excited to go to New York that I didn't mind then (didn't know any better). Actually I remember the highlights of New York and must have suppressed my "tour" of the farm, the fatory (who hoo!)--I can't remember much about it.
Every flippin time we took what sounded like it was going to be a great vacation like to Hawaii, New York, etc., my mom had to insist that it be planned around an assembly, or at the very least we had to go to meetings and out in service while there; hob-nob with the elders there. I HATED it. What a waste of time and opportunity.
