When did "no problem" become the rejoinder to "thank you"?

    Merci (Thank you)

    De rien (It's nothing)

    Es macht nichts (it doesn't matter)

    or just Bitte which means "please".

    A: Thank you.

    B: Please!

    Sounds wierd, don't you think?

    I really like the way Americans and English are always coming up with new way to say things. It's creative.
