    Hello boys and girls

I need some specific help. I am hosting a party to celebrate my birthday, and I have a problem ..... I don't know how to mix drinks. Or better said, I am on a tight budget and I need some help with what I need to buy, in order to make some different kind of coctails.

I have orange juice in plenty.

    Vermouth in abundance.

Red and white wine (can't mix those tho .. or can I?)

    And coca-cola.

So, I want vodka, lemons and icecubes ..... and what else? Any ideas, suggestions, great recepies would be most welcome

    Ok

We have straight up Martinis .....vermouth and Vodka

    Scredrivers......................orange juice and Vodka

    Mamossa's......................orange juice and champaigne

I had coke and vodka last night....not the greatest......buy some rum

Orange jucie Rum and vodka and you can make a Brass Monkey (like the Beastie Boys song)

You can blend the OJ with some rum and ICE cubes to make a little yummy slushy.

I recommend getting some Sweet and Sour and some Tripple Sec. They are cheap and they really expand your drink making varity.

I'm not an expert, but I've hosted a couple coctail parties. Here are most of the basics:

    Vodka
    Gin
    Rum
    Whiskey/Scotch

    Tonic Water
    Soda Water
    Vermouth
    Cranberry Juice
    Coke
    Lime
    Lemon
    Mint Leaves
    Olives
    Sugar
    Salt

It's also good to have Martini and Coctail glasses.

With these you can make Martinis, Gin & Tonics, Vodka Crans, Long Islands (might be missing an ingredient for this), Mojitos, etc. and, of course, shots.

There are probably a bunch of web sites that have recipies, or you can get a bar book.

    Licensious apostate behavior ensues... :)

For those who are not heavy drinkers, you can make a tasty inexpensive wine cooler.

    One bottle cheap white wine.

Real lemon and lime juices (just squeeze a couple of each).

2 litres of some lemon-lime soda (I prefer diet it's not too sweet).

It's refreshing, takes a while to get a buzz.
