How many of you have read the DaVinci Code by Dan Brown?

I am sure many of us have heard of Biblical conspiracy theories.... but I could NOT put this book down. I LOVED it.

    Highly recommended reading!

How much credibility do you all give to the existence of the "Q" document that was spoken of, or the missing gospels that should be included in the Greek cannon?

    This should be interesting

Heres a good question that kind of puts the DaVinci code in its place:

Why would the "Last Supper" by DaVinci be considered an accurate depiction of the actual event?

If you want more info on the Q source, use the notes contained in the New American Bible.

Just finished it, yeah it was great! Here's another recommendation for you: Who Wrote the Gospels by Randel McCraw Helms. Stuff on the Apocrypha and also a very interesting theory that a woman authored Luke and Acts.

The Da Vinci Code debuted at No. 1 on the New York Times best seller list and has remained near or at the top of the list for more than 14 weeks. Code is the first film in a likely franchise, with two other Dan Brown novels featuring the same lead character, Harvard prof Robert Langdon, either already in print or in the works. Of course I didn't read it (not into Christian Thrillars myself) but many people accept this book as historical when it is fiction or at the very best, revisionist history. Anyways, if there's anything I've learned from school, it is always best to talk about what you don't really know rather than to say nothing at all.

This book made more sense to me than that "other" book. It may be fiction, but when I read it, it seemed so right. The world is so out of balance. I've read the Bible all my life, and it never made sense to me. Because it was written by men with an agenda. Do I think it makes more sense not to treat women as "things" to be belittled? YES! Do I think Jesus would ever do that? NO! Do I think it makes more sense to worship "Mother Earth" than war? YES!

This book may be fiction, but hopefully more people will read it and start to change this world accordingly.

    A cool read.

I'm not to sure about the Holy Grail being hidden in bonny Scotland, maybe L'il Toe can advise us?

The book is entertaining fiction, and just remember that the "history" it presents is also largely fiction. That is to say, major historical errors are contained therein. So just remember that it is fiction, and enjoy it on those terms.

but I could NOT put this book down. I LOVED it.

Indeed! It was awsome, and I too, could not put it down. A brilliant fictional work interlaced with some interesting and intriguing historical facts. I love a conspiracy as much as anybody, but alas, not much there to prove or wonder about. I also highly recommend Dan Brown's Angels and Demons. Great story as well!

    Cheers,

    Corvin
