  avishai: The illustration is not twisted, if you would read the whole article you would see this. The point of the article was to be clean morally, saintly in Jehovah's eyes. The illustration was just that, an illustration to teach a point.

  Now regarding your other post about covering up molestation. That is just your generalization. You might give me an example of a cover up and I can give one of that was not covered up. I know my brothers in Bethel and I trust them. I am loyal to Jehovah's organization. I know that you do not understand this and you will belittle me for it, but that will not change the fact that I trust completely in Jehovah and his power to erase all the heartache in this world.

  eyeslice: I think your analysis is wrong. The point of the picture is that the little boy would get his clean clothes dirty. The boy would not drown in a puddle of mud. Even the illustration is explained in one of the paragraphs. The point was that we want to be saintly, as Jehovah is.

  IMHO, that picture is a great example of suggestive imagery that cults use to brainwash their followers. I mean listen to this dude, honestly, he verses what he writes in the same manner that one of those WT or awake magazine writers. It's a direct sign of not being able to exercise free-thought when one quotes directly from the literature they read. This is an example of someone who is so far in that he won't stop until he hits rock bottom, realizes what a bunch of excrement the society is full of, and comes on here with his tail between his legs.

  Shouldn't we welcome people like SOJ? Frankly, I'm glad he at least bothers to look at the arguements on the other side, even though he hasn't seen the light yet. I know most dubs wouldn't even give us a glance because "we are all just a bunch of disgruntled apostates."

  You will only get apostate juice on you by being here.

Surely you are not sanctioned by the WTBTS to come in here and minister to those who are unredeemable in the Society's all-seeing-illuminati eyes. Otherwise, don't you know you can and will be DF'd for associating with apostates (even on line) if the elders find out?

  Child porn is not funny. Child molestation is not funny. I agree and it digusts me also. I was abused as a boy, like some others here.

  Please, however, get off of Noumenon's case (and mine, too). Yes, it was a joke in poor taste, but nevertheless, it was funny as hell . . . it was an honest, clever and truthful observation about child molestors, not in support of child molestors.

  I found the "jokes" about child abuse inappropriate and abusive as well.

  The WTS views its members as children (not adults) needing their guidance. Notice the focus is on mailes. A young man at the computer screen, a young boy reaching for the ball.

  When JW men get involved in pornography, which is easily accessible on the Internet with easy anonymity, and they get found out or guiltily confess, they render themselves unfit for use in the congregation administrative set-up. Of course, it can be covered up, but many times not. So we find Bethelites leaving Bethel, elders/ms stepping down, reg pioneers going off the list, JW men no longer able to be attendants, handle the microphones, work behind the literature/magazine/territory counter, young men no longer qualified to move up the ladder of privileges in the congregation.

  At least for awhile.

  And as Sassy pointed out, they couldn't put pictures of oral/anal sex in the magazines. Just bringing up those topics in a public setting like the WT study is offensive enough.
