When You See A JW Approaching What Are Your Thoughts?

I used to feel sick and shaky when I saw them. I rarely see any I recognise now so not sure how I would react if I met one I used to know. I can talk to ones I don't know at my door no problem now.

I would greet any from my past and not mention the JW thing and treat them like "a normal person". If they brought it up (you know they would lol) I would just say I haven't been to meetings for a while and change the subject. I hope I am well past the feelings of sick and dread after 9 years of abstinence.

I would love to take them to task on their beliefs. Just for the fun of it. Trouble is they know me and my extended family.

It all depends on my mood at the time .sometimes I relish having a discussion with them (if and when I see them )

and at other times I can`t be bothered getting into a discussion with them.

However when I am in the mood I have no problem challenging them on their beliefs and practices .

I used to get those feelings of almost dread, because I knew I was going to have to watch what I said so carefully, because I did not want a J.C convened and me done for Apostasy.

Now I know that I have learned to speak words "seasoned with salt" as the bible has it, palatable to JW's, but planting seeds at the same time.

It pours out of me with no apparent effort, this is because for years I have been reading the excellent Posts on here that you guys have done, showing how you have spoken to JW's. I nick all your ideas ! Thanks guys and gals !

I smile and exchange pleasantries with those I know. It happened again last week. I visited with four JWs, including one who was a MS last I knew, at a local pizza parlor. This after being out 7 years. A clean break. I just walked away. Doctrine doesn't come up. I have been told that I am seen as "stumbled". If that were so, there would be good cause for the rumor. Clearly, they did not announce my name from the platform when I resigned.

That said, when I see cart witnessing, a JW.bOrg sign on a KH or any Christian icon or image, for that matter; it triggers my PTSD. It happened again yesterday. My husband had surgery at a local hospital that has stained glass windows with images of the Christ and crucifixes throughout the building. It totally freaked me out. Images and symbols from other religions do not have this effect. I have felt both pity and rage seeing JWs going door to door. It is so unsettling.

I don't care. I'm prepared to talk to them as you would any other acquaintance.

If they want to shun me then they can get knotted.

I would smile at them first , giving them the impression that I may be a potential convert.

Then would engage them with questions, starting with the Blood Issues and UN connection....

Perhaps something I say, may plant a seed of doubt in them which may someday bloom as TTATT
