I know the happiness of new love and I'm sure you guys will keep it going for more then 5 months and I hope it's 5000 months!! ... Happy posts make me happy.
Thanks slipnslidemaster! I am glad to hear that you know of new love. What I've been learning lately is that the Universe does not withhold nice things from people if they are not JW ... as the dubs would have us believe. That is a FEAR tactic and belief ... one that we would be well rid of. "Ask and you will receive," the scripture says ... It doesn't say, "Dubs may ask and maybe receive ... if they have been good dubs."
your courage is being blessed!
Yes, We are all survivors here...survivors of a dangerous mild-controlling cult. It does take courage to leave, and it does take courage to take hold of new beliefs and let go of old ones that no longer serve us... and it is well worth the effort!
From what I have been learning about old beliefs and replacing them, it is a very necessary process when leaving a cult. See, I have been learning that if you hang on to those old beliefs, even just in the back of your mind somewhere, they will come back and bite you when you aren't expecting. For example, if you are in a new and loving relationship, and one of those old beliefs kicks in, say, "I am undeserving of blessings if I am not a dub," then you will end up sabatoging your new loving relationship, because your subconscious says you are undeserving of something so nice and so wonderful.
I have found something wonderful and my intention is for it to last because I and all ex-jws deserve happiness. Only the dubs make living complicated. The reality is ... happiness and functionality are attainable by everyone ... easily!! Let go of the old "belief in struggle". That is another dub-ism, as far as I'm concerned. Believe in and trust in yourself!!!
