As the membership of the JW Governing Body changes, so does the "truth."

Pardon the semantics but not quite. Ray Franz was a member of the Governing Body and they tried to get him for apostasy (failed - got him for something else). It was part of his job to vote on what doctrine they would teach and he abstained once too often.

Of course, the Governing Body cannot be wrong collectively so the phrase should be changed to:

"It's OK to be an Apostate ... but only if you are the Governing Body"

Ancient Israel had leaders who propagated their interpretation. Not always on the mark but nevertheless allowed by God. If they veered too far many common folk Jews suffered. Still the leeway was given and everyone had to abide by their judgement calls of the day. Could be similar today.

I have always wondered about that too, Simon. Especially when they stripped Russell from his rank.

Every leader of this religion has apostatized from the previous version since Rutherford.

    Let's review: It's a cult!

The current organization shares very little with the organization that existed in the 1914-1919 timeframe that was supposedly when Jehovah chose them to be his channel of communication to mankind. So what was it that God saw in this group that made him choose them? And if what they taught was so wonderful, why have they changed so much of it since then?

    The real Apostate Boogeymen.

I should have worked that into the song.
