I wouldn't get the Hooters comment, but I am Dutch, and have no ******* clue what Hooters is/are. I would just look at you in bewilderment and say 'Mkay ...' and stick out my tongue to ya

oh gawd girly, we have far too much fun. i'd have stayed if i could've but work beckoned. besides, i think your mom was trying to use telekinetic powers to kill me, like in the movie Carrie. heehee. on a more serious note, i do totally identify. never in a million years did i think i'd ever find a best friend. cripes, even when i was a JW i never really had a best friend. little did i know that they do exist and friendship could be THAT good. somedays i'm amazed that you can even put up with me.......sputtering out words like "Bourbon!!!" for no apparent reason and improper use of the phrase "apparently so." in all honesty though, who else could sip champagne and discuss ass porn on new year's eve? not many that i know. you also put up with my family, and even enjoy it a little bit after a string of bad luck with friends, you were definitely worth the wait. i love ya girly.
I am glad you and eyegirl have built this bond of friendship. I too have gone through my years when I wondered if I would have a close friend and leaving the WTS last year caused me to lose friends who although imperfect, did understand me 'in some ways' more than most.. I miss them.. however I am fortunately to have SimpleSally in my life... I'm also becoming extremely close to Morty, even though to date we have not yet met.. but there are friendships we can build and bond with no matter our age.. there is no boundaries.. and as we are learning deepfriendships can be found outside the WTS.

Your post reminds me of the lines from the Master's Notebook, contained within Richard Bach's book titled "Illusions". I'm relying on memory because I gave the book away. I think it goes something like this:

Jo and Eye, you have to be the most adorable friends here. I still don't really have a 'best friend' anywhere in my life unless you count my son. I promised his last school counselor that I would try to be more of a mom and less of a friend to him though. I'm not supposed to be both according to him. I still enjoyed watching him entertain a crowd of adults at a Christmas party a week ago. He danced for everyone and was asking for requests. I'm so proud of the way he interacts with adults. He fits right in.
On another note, could everyone please refrain from mentioning the movie (or book) Carrie on a negative note? I've had a lifetime of people asking my name, Carrie, and asking if I'm like that girl in the movie. No, I don't wear pig's blood and no, I don't have any telekinetic powers.
I'm very glad the two of you found each other. The genuine caring you two have of eachother shows in your posts.
I'm off to put on "burnt almond" lipstick so I can plant another smooch on Raybies cheek at the very next oppurtunity.

Jo, Saddly as most people grow older, they forget what it was like to be a kid, to laugh, skip, play, twirl. Kids laugh all the time, as most grow older for some reason it become unacceptable for adults to act like kids. It's really sad, because they are missing out on so much fun in life. don't change! Seek out friends that get you. I think I would get you, your humor always makes me laugh.
In a perfectly balanced universe, shouldn't there be a place for the ladies? How about a place called "Peckers"?
