Can I ask a question that I just can't seem to get out of my head? Do you personally know the person you received the email from (the originator who says they personally have a friend's mother who is ill)? If this is for sure for real, it is a wonderful idea. I just can't seem to get out of my head other scams in the past that were similar in nature, like a child dying of cancer who just wanted book marks sent and email were sent around and to find out it was a hoax and not real. Lady Lee, I trust you, the one who sent you the email, do you personally know her? and is she the one who personally knows this one who is ill?
A SPECIAL Request by a friend of Lee's

Lady Lee
Definitely legit questions and I asked them myself before I posted this because I know there have been other scams similar to this.
I recieved the email from a lady in my writers group. She is one of the co-authors of my recently published book. We have worked together for over 4 years now. The woman who has cancer is her best friend's mom.
As writer's we are all pretty cautious about printing and spreading untruths. Ryn (the co-writer) would not have asked if this had been an anonymous request. Sadly it is personal.
After I recieved the request from Ryn I asked her to verify passing on the address (which I still won't post publically). She was able to confirm the request from her friend.
Hope that answers your questions. I had similar concerns at first.
