"Wise Men," or Duped Men?

I wonder how many people would still want this "star" adorning the top of their Christmas Tree if they only knew the truth about it?

um IMO this is already part of the whole Jesus story and seeing how important persecution to prove a cause has been, I wouldn't imagine any Christian would have a problem with it. It also just confirms to them that even the "Great" Harod beleived in their god. It all fits...unfortunately.

    Sincerely,

If God could use a pillar or column of fire to guide his people at night in Ex. 13:21 and cause his shining glory to gleam upon the shepherds in Luke 2:9 and have Paul see a light in Acts 9:3 and yet none of them were duped, then why should we conclude that it was Satan who was responsible for the star in Matt. 2? Just because they were pagan astrologers doesn't make them malevolent. As a matter of fact, they acknowledged Jesus' kingship and brought him gifts and offered him honor, which is a far cry from what Herod intended. Moreover, they also listened to God's warning in a dream not to return to Herod. If they were in cahoot with Satan, they would not have obeyed and done just the opposite.

P.S. While Herod was a pretending fraud, the actions of the magi prove that they indeed were wise men!
