False Predictions

From when I was a child, the teaching about when the anointed were going to heaven, went back and forth - between some being on the earth when the tribulation started, to all being gone etc.

When I finally did read the bible in detail about Daniel's prophecies, combined with Revelation, you can easily find the answer. 1 Cor 15:52 Paul says that at "the last trumpet" they will be changed and will be incorruptible. Last trumpet in Revelation is the seventh trumpet. According to WT, their conventions held in Ohio (if I remember correctly) were the seven trumpet blasts. Guess they have already "changed" and didn't know it.

dofp: "From when I was a child, the teaching about when the anointed were going to heaven, went back and forth - between some being on the earth when the tribulation started, to all being gone etc.",

-- to "anointed" even surviving Armageddon and being still around at the beginning of the "New World" to organize paradise . wt has to organize everything.

JWs live with the expectation of beliefs being in flux. Always waiting for the next "announcement"
Note: the Chariot might have crazy wheels with eyes, (missing in last video). but no rear view mirror.

One missing failed prophecy was the promise that the end would come before the passing of the 1914 generation.

They have made no false prophesies as they are not prophets and studying the Bible and calculating dates is not prophesying.

And just because one or a few teachers did that in the past does not make it right to label JWs as having made false predictions.

So yes, when JWs come to your door, they have the truth. Because truth is not about having all the understandings about the future.

R 350 They have made no false prophesies as they are not prophets and studying the Bible and calculating dates is not prophesying.

But wt writer are doing more than that. they publish their resulting calculations. In publications printed in the millions. distributed by workers (paid below minimum wage) called also " publishers". Go to page 426 of your "proclaimers book" and read about the worldwide prophesying " --Millions now living will never die". These were not expectations. These were predictions prophesied by the newly (1919) appointed "Faithful Slave". so:

Organized Religions are a human inventions, wasteful ones. the WTBT S inc. with it's prophetic bible tracts, one with the worst track record (see page 426).

Most of the JWs don't know about the failures listed in the OP.

All they've gotten is a whitewashed version... if that.

Does the WTS (or whatever term they use) consider themselves prophets or prophesying. Here are the comments from JWFacts.

"This was the test - the coming down of fire; and the fulfillment exactly on time has proved that Pastor Russell was one of God's great reformers and prophets." Watchtower 1919 Oct 1 p.297

"For an answer, people should listen to the plain preaching by the remnant prefigured by Jeremiah, for these preach to men the present-day fulfillment of Jeremiah's prophecies. Who made them a prophet to speak with the authority that they claim? Well, who made Jeremiah a prophet?" Watchtower 1959 Jan 15 pp.39-41
"Those who do not read can hear, for God has on earth today a prophetlike organization, just as he did in the days of the early Christian congregation." Watchtower 1964 Oct 1 p.601

    IDENTIFYING THE "PROPHET"
These questions can be answered in the affirmative. Who is this prophet?
... This "prophet" was not one man, but was a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovah's Christian witnesses.
... Of course, it is easy to say that this group acts as a "prophet" of God. It is another thing to prove it. The only way that this can be done is to review the record. Thus this group of anointed followers of Jesus Christ, doing a work in Christendom paralleling Ezekiel's work among the Jews, were manifestly the modern-day Ezekiel, the "prophet" commissioned by Jehovah to declare the good news of God's Messianic kingdom and to give warning to Christendom." Watchtower 1972 Apr 1 pp.197-199 'They Shall Know that a Prophet Was Among Them'

"All True Christians ARE Prophets. The New American Bible correctly states: "Prophet means 'one who speaks for another,' especially for God. It does not necessarily mean that he predicts the future!" You will be interested to learn that God has on earth a people, all of whom are prophets, or witnesses for God. In fact, they are known throughout the world as Jehovah's Witnesses." Awake! 1986 Jun 8 p. 9

And more, there are comments made connecting this statements with conflicting statements by the WTS.
