10 reasons why you should never have a religion
What is so ironic about Atheists? We are always talking about God. LOL
James: What is so ironic about Atheists? We are always talking about God. LOL
It is ironic, but it is the root part of the word which many of us use to define our beliefs or lack thereof (if you prefer).
1) Buddhism---If S happened it's not really S.
2)Islam---If S happens it's the will of Allah
3)Protestantism ----S happen because you don't work hard enough
4)Judaism----why does this S always happen to us.
5)Hinduism---this S happen before
6)Catholicism-----S happen because you're bad.
7)T.V Evangelism------send more of that S.
8)JW's-----I never said that S.
9)Agnosticism--maybe S happens,maybe it doesn't
10)Hara Krishna: Lets smoke this shit.
Maybe if you had been an atheist from the beginning, God would have hardly have been mentioned. LOL.... I think because we have all been trapped in a fundamentalist religion and maybe still are in a sense (losing our loved ones to it) God becomes the 'lynch pin' of our religious (or lack of) beliefs.
For me, it's not God that's the problem but how humans have imagined him and have controlled other humans with their understanding.
I just feel that whatever beliefs we end up with, whether we still have some form of christianity (on a personal level) or an agnostic, or atheist.. we have all come from the same place... a religion that has controlled us... and we all want to distance ourselves from that control and take back the freedom that should be ours!
It's funny, my golf partners are all very religious and you know
what's the weekly discussion, church politics. There have been
one discussion about the bible in 5 years, and this was last
week. The discussion, can one lose his salvation. They are all good man,
but when it comes to their faith, they know nothing. I must
say this about JW's, 75% of their conversation is the Bible.
When I first saw the thread title, I thought he OP was going to link to a Cracked article I'd somehow missed.
