One of the JWs I hung around as a kid, his parents would not let him watch the man from Atlantis, because it was too weird a man who had gills. Dubbers can be such assholes.

    ''Dubbers can be such assholes.''

    Never let it be said.

When I was at Bethel in the 70’s a friend figured it be safe to see an “R” rated movie at the local Brooklyn Heights theatre on Monday due to Bethel Watchtower study. After he buys the ticket, using his Bethel ID to get the discount he is told, “there’s a lot of you guys here tonight.” He said he could barely find an empty seat.

I remember when I first realized how disingenuous the Org forbidding R-rated movies was, considering just how much graphic violence, horror, and sex the Bible actually contains*.

I firmly believe Eli Roth and Quentin Tarantino are huge fans.

When I was in and with my husband it went like this....if HE picked the R rated movie...we watched it...If it was a movie I wanted to watch...he knocked the remote out of my hand.

Witnesses never watch R movies - I did.

I remember watching Trainspotting (1996) when I was 18 years old and still in. I remember feeling conflicted. It's clearly a great film but it has lots of naughtiness - sex, swearing, drug-taking, violence.

I also watched my fair share of porn too, lol ...
