I don't get any pressure to go back. I never did. The message I got was, "We never liked you anyway, we're glad you're gone.". They told me to bring them my questions and when I brought them my questions they decided not to answer them and to start shunning me. I am glad they did that. My life is much better without them. I hope it continues. GaryB

Sns, There may soon come a time when your Witness friends and family no longer communicate with you at all. So, I suggest, out of love and compassion, take advantage of the situation. Plant some seeds. Explain to them sincerely and plainly your reasons for leaving. Show no anger. Be kind. Let them see you are honest and struggling with your heart. They will be touched. They may open to doubts of their own, because of you. Rather than see this all as "pressure" on you, look at it as an opportunity to touch the hearts of others. This could be a very special time for you Sns. j

There comes a point where you just have to say, "Tough cookies. It's my life and I'm sorry you have such a hang up."

How do you deal with all the pressure when you know in your heart you can never go back?
turn the tables....
I tell people I have NEVER known a moment when I did not exist and NEVER shall, so why should I bother to worry about something like death that I will NEVER experience?
After all, JWs only promise that your clone will enjoy paradise if you die, so why should I care about that?
if my death is my ending, I will not be around to worry about it, I will not be there to regret it either...if not my end, I will probably have to deal with each moment one at a time just like now, so I will enjoy what time I actually live rather than worry about what I may never even experience.

Welcome to the forum Meliphar!
You said:" just remember that the thief who died next to Christ did not attend meetings, do field ministry or any of the othet things that would "earn" your entry. All he did was accept Christ as Lord and Savior."
"In other words, you get in by faith...not by works."
WELL SAID Meliphar!!
There is a sister I know that thinks that I am one of the annointed because she figures that people who leave the Organization, who profess to be Christians are always miserable! And I am so happy! So I must be one! of the Annointed!.
P.S. I am NOT of the Annointed!
Christian Love,

SNS, thanks for starting this thread. As you know, Euph and I are having similar problems. I hope it's reassuring to know you're not alone. I'm benefitting too from the answers on this thread. :)

If you mean the mental anguish then I suggest keeping yourself as busy as you can.
If you mean the physical pressure then it's way tougher. I'm sure at some point you want to scream out the reasons for leaving. That I know I can't help you with as we made it very obvious why we left and that we didn't require or desire any help back.

sorry sns,
I dont have any advice on this matter...never had to endure it......I can tell you from what I have heard from other friends and family though....
Some said it was heart breakin to ignor them and others said it was hell to fight with them....The pressures can be unbareable I bet,but you are doing the right thing by staying away from all meetings and anything that has to do with the jws.....
chin up hon......things will get better in time.....they will eventually except the fact that you are not going back....

Not all of them. Especially family. I know ones who still have not accepted the fact that those who left 20 or more years ago are never coming back. They still work on them, chip away at them, pray for them, and state with confidence that they know they will turn around before it's too late.
