I'm just glad the prediction models were all way off... deaths while horrible are much less than predicted...Maybe the media over reacted to scare us into staying home to flatten the curve. If we all went about like normal, i'm sure there would be more deaths. I just hate the economy has been ruined. It will hopefully bounce back...

I think the travel industries (hotels, airlines, car rentals, etc) will permanently be affected. I see restaurants bouncing back but it will be months if not a year or more to get back close the previous levels. And that assumes the virus is gone, not just down to lower levels. If there are ANY new levels of infections, don't expect people to crowd together in restaurants.

Also, I see a plummet in the cost of office space since many employers will realize that they can function just as well with a lot of the back-office people working from home. Why have a large building with offices and cubicle space that you are paying a fixed monthly amount for even when people are not even working (vacations, weekends, etc.). Invest in a smaller, higher class location if visibility is a requirement and still save a lot of money.

The upside would be IT and Audio-Visual specialists. If a person has some experience in those areas, I bet you will have more work than you could handle in the upcoming years in setting up conference rooms and offices with cameras, microphones, software, electronic whiteboards and other peripheral equipment to make the stay-at-home experience as close as possible to being in the office. And then another revenue stream in training the personnel who will be using it (or service contracts to provide on-going support).

I'm thinking about this myself the more I am thinking about it.

Perhaps the pendulum has swung too far, but surely we don't want to go back to the days when anybody could claim to be a physician and charlatans hawked Radium Belts, Electronic Radio Biolas?

It's easy on a forum full of intelligent people to think that we are so much more sophisticated today and maybe it's easy to forget that JW views on evolution are accepted as solid science in some circles.

A good case in point was an article written about the Covid-19 outbreak by a right wing political activist here in the U.S. The gentleman, by the name of Aaron Ginn, dressed up the claim that this was really no worse than the seasonal flu with impressive looking charts, outdated and cherry-picked statistics and the public lapped it up.

--Even when the claims did not follow from the charts like this little gem below:

His article was taken down and he (Predictably) cried censorship.

After reading some of the comments here, let me get it straight...the so called experts can get it wrong time after time and still have credibility and trust?

    **I don't think so!

You don't have the right to globally-censor-silence anyone...even it they are a bit wacky and misleading.

    Check facts yourself!

Doctors, lawyers, engineers and other professions that involve public health, safety and trust all have disciplinary boards which can suspend or even strip you of your professional certification entirely.

Conversely, practicing medicine, law, and engineering without a license is illegal, which is why technical writers have to be careful not to cross that line.

It's really not that hard to understand.
