False equivalence. You can't drop being gay. You can drop religious beliefs if you want to. Stopping a person from entering a plane because they're gay would be wrong. Stopping a person from entering a plane because they believe that they have a duty to kill infidels in the plane... well... that's just common sense!!

There is a site called The Religion of Peace, which is sort of like a "jwfacts" for Islam... Essentially what they advocate is the same solution that would combat JW's: KNOWLEDGE! Spread knowledge of Islam and how bad it really is, so that hopefully less and less people join it!

There is no doubt that hate crimes are on the rise. I think it's because the call to "make America great again" and the widespread admiration of "straight talk" are codespeak for those who harbor the worst racist, sexist and religious bias. They see the current political agenda as a way to have their voices heard.

It's important to remember there is context and things work both ways - you are taking it to be all coming from one side and none from the other. There are also lots of examples of violence *by* some of those groups targeted toward others. It often goes beyond wanting a voice heard and into beating people into submission. The SPLC only cares about one side of the coin.

The alarming thing is how quickly "straight talk" turns into violence. Here in NY, just recently a woman was beaten while working at her desk at JFK for wearing a hijab, Swastikas were scrawled on subway cars. JCC's all over are being threatened.

There have also been many examples of people vandalizing their own things, claiming they have been assaulted when they haven't etc... Heck, I've seen some liberal commentator claim people are painting swastikas on the pavement and it's just utility markings for work to be done.

The bottom line is: don't fall for reports of hate crimes always being hate crimes. People are using the act of making claims as a political tool (which does no favours for genuine victims and should be prosecuted heavily IMO as though it was the real crime).

But it is also fair to say that non-Islamic religions although not causing violence directly, they endorse it or cause it indirectly.

You'd have to give examples of such a vague claim.

And be sure to compare it to the scale and frequency that Islam does it.

This whole "well a Christian guy once bombed somewhere 40 years ago so therefore same as ISIS" stuff is getting old and no one buys it as a legitimate argument anymore.

No, Jihad is unique to Islam... not all religions are equal, that's a false idea.

I don't think Islam can ever be reformed for the simple reason that the writings (Sacred) contained in the Quran has much entailing and influencing violence against non-Muslims or those who seek to practice moderate versions of the faith.

That indoctrinated sacred violence is seen as a power source for some individuals who want to enforce those old Sharia law traditions. ie, Isis

That propagating violence instigates the behavior for many of these off shoot Muslim sects ..

While "Muslims" may come in all temperaments, "Islam" is not a religion of peace, it's a disgusting hate club. The tenants go against everything progressive, and those that adhere to its most plausible interpretation are in fact holding very dangerous ideas.

A considerable number of those people are not really Muslim, they are like the JWs who are counted as being such but only there because they are trapped and the rest of their family are in.

Imagine what it's like when your entire town / city / country is completely "in" a cult?

This is why there is such a clear divide between countries where Islam is a minority and those where it reaches a tipping point of being able to assert absolute control. Then people in those countries are fucked.

Unfortunately, for unfathomable reasons, many on the left seem to want Islam to have free reign over here and setup it's little shop of horrors in every town and city with no limitations on their hate but absolute restrictions placed on any who oppose it. They dislike the conservatives in our own countries that they are willing to welcome in the far more right wing fascism of others.

It needs to be fought at every step before we find ourselves having to fight on every street corner.

At such an important moment ... and we have Trudeau in office, FFS. We are pretty fucked right now.

Those who try are labeled anti-mulsim extremists by the illeberals... as long as things continue like that, Islam remains beyond criticism and continues to be misidentified as not only a race but an oppressed class, nothing will change.
