To me, the memorial partakers numbers going up is the clearest example of how JWs do not have an individual conscience. Up until the 1935 teaching was changed, that number was going down. Thereafter, it never stopped going up. Considering that being anointed is supposed to be a personal spiritual experience, this shows how people's personal spirituality is guided or perhaps even, dictated, by their religious leaders.

Based on that observation, I would not be surprised that a great percentage would start taking blood if the religious leaders ever changed their minds on it.

Wow number of congregations is down. I may be wrong but I think that’s the first time ever that the number of congregations has gone down. (Even following 1975 the number of congregations didn’t actually decrease, I don’t think) This is the most telling statistic.

Other figures can be fudged. People can inflate hours, roll over reports and increase the peak number, count people on the phone link for the memorial when they were not counted before, and so on. But you can’t inflate or exaggerate a congregation. It either exists, holds meetings, and pays its bills, or it doesn’t.

So the most verifiable statistic of JW growth, the number of congregations, is now in decline.

Peak Pubs is not an accurate number.

Average Pubs tells the story. Down over 100,000 pubs.

Both average and peak number seem to be up on these figures, no?

By the way, have they really published the average figure this year after dropping it last year? That’s a big improvement, if true.

I hope we still get the country breakdown in due course.

From a business point of view, this is really flat. As was pointed out, their congregation numbers are down - we know they've been consolidating. Interesting too, is their publisher numbers - if you take the number baptized and add it to last year's average publisher number - it would be 8.5m publishers. This year's actual number is 8.3m which means at least 170k people died, became inactive or were disfellowshipped.

Flat. Flat. Flat. No wonder they needed to cut spending. They are outspending their growth with no new revenue streams to develop. The main "growth" is in poor countries that cannot afford to support the organization. Developed countries with all the sexual abuse scandals are experiencing a mass exodus and drop in donations.

They've got themselves in a pickle.

Interesting that the USA is at 0% and Mexico which used to grow by leaps and bounds is at 1%.

I don't trust these or any of their figures. They have been proven to lie, so all of a sudden on numbers that matter, they tell the truth?

Mexico has more congs than the US. Is that the first time that has occurred?
