I think has got more to do with possible anti western laws at some point in the future in Hong Kong - an American cult will not be popular - so they've moved to South Korea, which is a US ally.

I think Diogenesister is on the right track. If the anal polyp known as Xi Jinping decides to exercise his psychopathy, things in the PRC's immediate neighborhood could become difficult for unapproved ideas and organizations. Moving the BORG staff to Korea protects them. As for JWs who live in Hong Kong, the GB will inform them that they are on their own.

    Probably what Diogenesister said.

The Borg is an American - based tax free entity.

Likely to avoid legal ramifications and these kinds of things.

    Joe,,

    Good point.

It just goes to show where their trust lies.

    In Jehovah. Or an organization.

    Its the latter.

Yes, the JW's in Hong Kong are on their own. Communist China will come down hard on the remaining flock. I wonder if the congregations there will experience the same problems that happened in Russia.

I believe a lot of the witnesses in HK are Philippine migrant workers. It’s very much the same story in oil rich eastern countries where they are also under ban.

Proverbs 22:3...explains why they have closed it down. Very sensible.
