Last days as defined by the 'still current' Reasoning book

Reasoning book pg.234 onwards ( from the JW org website):

    Last Days

Definition: The Bible uses the expression “last days” to refer to the concluding time period leading up to a divinely appointed execution that marks the end of a system of things. The Jewish system with its worship built around the temple in Jerusalem experienced its last days from 33 to 70 C.E. What occurred then was pictorial of what would be experienced in a greatly intensified way and on a global scale at a time when all nations would be facing the execution of judgment decreed by God. The present wicked system of things, which extends worldwide, entered its last days in 1914, and some of the generation alive then will also be on hand to witness its complete end in the “great tribulation.”

    And then this...

    If Someone Says—

‘How do you know that some future generation won’t fit the prophecy even better than this one?’

‘Matching world events to this prophecy is like matching a fingerprint to its owner. There will not be someone else with the identical print. Likewise, the pattern of events that began in 1914 will not be repeated in some future generation.’

I don't think they consider the Reasoning Book "still current".

Granted, there has been no replacement for it, but they never ever talk about it any more and it is not available on their app.

They've pretty much written off anything published before 2000.

I'd say that the tightness of trousers is of more importance than the last days, to the Jobots.

Do the Jobots still use the 'reasoning from ignorance' book still? I don't think they do.

@punkofnice Wow, you give WT propaganda way too much credit if you're still using the word "reasoning" there...

"Ignorance from the Scriptures" book. Fixed it ;).

  • nowwhat?

They are always talking about "apostate lies" when all we do is point out what's in their publications!

Matching world events to this prophecy is like matching a fingerprint to its owner.

Using the fingerprint analogy invites ridicule.

Down through the centuries, end-times religionists have mis-matched so many fingerprints - yet been convinced theirs was a perfect match. For example, Chuck Russell matched the fingerprint to 1799 as the start of the time of the end - a date which was not replaced until the 1920s when Rutherford replace it with 1914 being the start.

Humans and their speculations and analogies.

Likewise, the pattern of events that began in 1914.

There was no pattern of events which was strictly unique starting at 1914.

All the supposed signs of the End Times happened well throughout the centuries before 1914 and even more so if you researched history.

The WTS were the real liars and false Prophets, but hey they had literature to sell and proliferate.

The Gospel preached by the WTS was a tainted commercialized Gospel, not accurately adherent to the writings and instructions in the bible by the words of Jesus Christ.

@Sir82, to be honest, I have no idea if they consider the Reasoning book current.

Its actually been a while since I visited the JW org website and what I find intriguing is the sheer amount of the WT library that have no active links, meaning of course, that unless you have a physical hard copy of the book, there is no way of reading the information. (Apart from sites like this).

For an organisation that has printed books virtually non-stop since the late 1800's, you would think that the library would be far more extensive, but they are only prepared to make a fraction of these books available for research.

What other organization religious or secular is ashamed and hides evidence of their past history especially a religion who has produced millions of books, tracts, pamphlets, and magazines in their more than 130+ year history and now disowns / disputes /disagrees with the bulk of information that they ever published ?

How can they in all seriousness still claim to be the only "true" religion when they have trashed every "truth" they have ever published in over 130+ years of publishing their "Bible Truths" that are now cast aside .?
