a watcher, Thanks! Mid-trib at least allows the faithful to suffer for a while, but they still get "beamed up" before it gets too unbearable.

The rapture (the many versions of it) is fraught with inconsistencies. For example, it is ultimately a sorting of the wheat 🌾 from the tares, the sheep 🐑 from the goats 🐐, before the final judgement.

In my opinion, e-watchman has the most accurate understanding of 'the rapture'.

Mainstream (and early Christian) details about the Rapture can be found here. It is a FOUNDATIONAL Christian belief. Scripture calls that event a Christian's "blessed hope". It is what every saved person since Able is looking forward to. The Rapture officially ends the "Church Age" which is NOT the final age of God's affairs with men. Christianity is parenthetical, a slight detour that made possible the Salvation of everyone on earth that recieves Christ.

But BTTT, I was thinking that after the Jihad on the pinata is abandoned, maybe Thanksgiving could be next. Maybe soon stories like this will be just relics of bygone days:

"Then there was the occasion when a turkey dinner was served in the school cafeteria just before Thanksgiving vacation. Rick, who was in the first grade at the time, refused to eat it. Only after persistent explaining by the teacher that it was not Thanksgiving Day nor a real Thanksgiving dinner, and after a phone call to Carol, did Rick’s conscience allow him to eat that meal."

What kind of Christian group prohibits giving thanks to God? The WT DEMANDS that their members make freaks out of their children.

Thanksgiving might make a nice second step after the pinata.

I imagine that the spin would be that Rick was giving "a fine witness". The teacher probably thought that he was a legalistic little shit. Not that "Rick", nor that situation, are real.

    Exactly!

"Only after persistent explaining by the teacher that it was not Thanksgiving Day nor a real Thanksgiving dinner, and after a phone call to Carol, did Rick’s conscience allow him to eat that meal"

A first grader had an existential conscience crisis? Give me a break. What a load of crap. That kid had to be reassured that he would not end up as bird food if he ate it. There was no conscience in any part of that, it was all manipulation and fear porn instilled in a poor child who happened to be born in the wrong family.

    NOT FORMER:

With regard to little ‘Rick’ and the turkey:

When I was a little Catholic school child in the earlier years of grade school, I was worried because Mom served meat one Friday. Anybody who knows about Catholics years ago was that you were supposed to eat fish on Friday.

Anyway, I anxiously told my mother that we should be eating fish! Know what she said? “God understands that you eat what you have.” In all likelihood, my Dad did not want fish so often and it was he who usually told her what to make. My parents were not strict Catholics.

I accepted what she said and never thought about it again. The point being it’s not just Witness kids who can get anxious about displeasing God!

Imagine that poor teacher, having to dedicate so much time to one student because he was taught to fear a Thanksgiving meal. I'll bet she was super-receptive the next time a JW knocked on her door at 10am on a weekend!

    SeaBreeze,

    Your comment here:

Ok so they refuse to use the word "rapture". Kinda like they refuse to use the word church and clergy (except when it suits their purposes in court cases). But, it's the same thing.

Reminds me when the WTS finally said all the anointed must be in heaven, shortly after the GT starts) for the Marriage of Jesus and the Bride. Considering how young current GB members, are is the end long off, based on the current life term of humans? Then that means they would have to go heaven before they die a natural death on earth. Sounds like the "rapture" to me.

RK (e-watchman) is a fool. And most everyone on his site are too for believing him on the things he says. They have just replaced the GB for him.

Yes, Robert King is a documented false prophet..... sort of a false prophet's false prophet. A heretics' heretic.

    BTTT,

Maybe Mother's Day could be the next noose to be loosened? I mean who doesn't think mom's don't deserve some honor for all that they do?

Unfortunately, the WT will have to adjust their thinking:

“(Mother's Day) A festival derived from the custom of mother worship in ancient Greece. Formal mother worship, with ceremonies to Cybele, or Rhea, the Great Mother of the Gods, were performed on the Ides of March throughout Asia Minor.”..."So, then, is it not right to shun such observances today and thus obey the Bible’s command to “quit touching the unclean thing”? - g74 2/8 pp. 27-28

So Mother's Day is equaly idolatry? Apparently so.....except of course if you refer to the WT organization as "mother" then it's Ok.

"The favorable record that has been established by the New World society, then, speaks well for the excellent instruction received from the great mother organization above". - w57 5/1 pp. 279-285

    Their hypocrisy is breathtaking.

The article goes on to say:

"We are subject, therefore, to God through Christ, the chief one in God’s wifely organization, which is our mother. Hence, as parents are known by their children, to bring reproach on the visible New World society is to bring reproach on Jehovah God and Christ Jesus and on our mother."

Can have anyone competiting with our affections with mother church now can we?
