That’s why the States were in Iraq. Halliburton owns the camps that feed and house the army.

This morning Javad Zarif, foreign minister of Iran, the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism, tweeted the following:

"We do not seek escalation or war, but will defend ourselves against any aggression.

Of course they don't. They would be obliterated. Now, they also don't to be looked at as being pushovers, so they retaliated with what really amounted to a token attack -- a few missiles launched into a low value area, with advance warning as to not kill anybody.

All of this nonsense is posturing from both sides, which should not be believed.

The US finds out about a plan a few days away that will kill Americans and decides to kill a general. This is as stupid as the US finding out about 9/11 a few days earlier and decide the best course of action is to kill Bin Laden, as if that would stop a plan already in motion.

What was the plan? What did we do to actually stop it? Silence...

The orange agent walks away from this with an image boost, while American idiots pat themselves on the back, because they think the President cares about them.

Your idiotic logic would be like saying in 1941:

"Well, we know what Hitler's Final Solution is, but since he's already set it in motion, we won't bother killing him. Let's all play nice."

THAT is how much sense your logic makes. What a twat!

To my way of seeing (having lived in the forties, fifties, sixties, seventies, eighties, nineties, etc),
politics is now a religious litmus test of true-believers. But it is a religion of fanatics, hot heads, and short fuses.
There is an unpleasant glimpse of how friends and relatives are AT THEIR WORST I never wanted to see.
I'd love say it's "inhuman" - but - we all know that would be wildly inaccurate.

Persia ( Iran) was once the friend of Israel, when it freed the captives at the waters of babylon, and send them back rebuilding.

may be all should tread lightly here, remember who your friends are/ were, shooting down twice friendly harmless large flying targets.

    _____
The big change in Persia (Iran) was the invasion of Muslim armies which conquered in 651.
Iranians (Persians) were Zoroastrians until then.
Zoroastrianism was a STRONG influence on the theology of Judaism as its faith centered on a dualistic cosmology of good and evil and an eschatology predicting the ultimate conquest of evil.
We in the West seem to forget the invasion of Islam into countries such as Persia and Egypt turned the culture upside down and all but entirely eradicated their psychology.
Think of Japanese culture BEFORE and AFTER the defeat and invasion of U.S. armies in 1945.

But the current Iranian government clearly is. It has killed and attacked US soldiers in Iraq.

    L.U.H.E. ...

You make an excellent point in just a few concise words.

The US is in Iraq ???? Then Iran is in Iraq ????

The US did not attack Iran. Iran did not attack the US. But somehow we all get sucked into these proxy wars.

The US is not going to change these people. They are hard-wired in some odd way to just fight among themselves.

The US, Britain and France all fought each other back in the 1700's and 1800's. How many wars did the US fight against Britain back in the day?

But we got over it. Now we are all butt-buddies.

Does anyone see this happening among all the factions of Islam in the Middle East? In reality, they often hate each other (think apostates) more than they hate Western society (infidels).

Their brains just have different connections, work on different voltage or something.

    I don't know.

Yeah, good comments, Rub a Dub.

There is much sectarian division, hatred in the Middle East.

In reality, they often hate each other (think apostates) more than they hate Western society (infidels) - yes, this is true. The number one enemy for Iran is Saudi Arabia and the number one enemy for Saudi Arabia is Iran. Those two countries hate each other more than they hate Israel.

    What's the solution? I don't know.

Some people say that the West should just leave and let them fight it out amongst themselves.

^^^ I can see the sense in this but there are vulnerable minorities in the region, such as Yazidis and Christians, that need protection.

It seems that a lot people in the Middle East - a lot of Middle East Muslims, anyway - just aren't ready for Western democracy.

What should be done? Prop up strong man-types who rule with an iron fist but are no threat to the West?

    Dunno ...
