The simplistic OP credits the GB with too much influence. My atheism is the result of my own critical thinking and scientific outlook. The GB simply cannot take credit for that. I have bumped into more than a few athiests who come from many different religious groups. You see more athiests here simply because they are welcome. Believe me, there are untold numbers of ex-JWs who continue to be believers.
